I've ridden both. I much prefer the 2001. The wake is a lot nicer and has more potential. More weight can be added to the 2001 with out plowing through the water. It helps to get a 3 blade Acme prop, or any 4 blade that is rated for wakeboarding. The Excel is nicer for space in the boat, but not worth the extra money.
