Lifted truck drop hitch size
 

I just got a 07.5 duramax with 37" tire and maxed out 6" lift. I just sold the tire and now I'm going to run 35" and de-crank the lift to about a 4.5" lift and 3" blocks in the back. Do you think I could get away with a B&W 5" drop hitch.

yeah its a chevy the ride low to begin with. i know my f350 8" lift on 37s take a 10" and it still isnt enough

I'd guess 6" drop would be the ticket but every trailer is different. Check out these Diversitech adjustable hitches. I took a close look at them a few weeks ago at SEMA. The self locking hitch is badass, no more pins and it's got anti rattle, spring loaded balls. I don't know about you but loose hitches drive me nuts.

I have a 2004 duramax with a 6" RCD lift running 35's. To tow the boat level I use an 8" drop.

I have a 2001 silverado, 6" suspension, 3" body with 35s. I only have a 6" drop and haven't had a problem in 3 years.

Most standard trailers these days are designed to travel level when the ball is 18" off the ground to the top of the ball. Take a known drop hitch...say a 2"...put it on your truck, measure from the ground to the top of the ball, subtract 18" and that will tell you how much more of a drop you need.

I also factor in the drop in suspension when the weight of the boat is on the hitch to maintain that 18" height.

I was always told from the dealer, 19" to the top of the ball. So yeah, 18-19" should get you there...

hey blair what drop did you end up going with on your hitch?... I need a hitch for now but want to be sure it will accommodate a lift down the road.

I went with the B&W drop hitch it adjustable 5" down and 5-1/2" rise. I love it and if you look around you can find it for about 165.00
