What does your arm look like? I have seen some close calls from my mirror, and I have heard of some pretty nasty shoulder injury from an arm through the handle.

torn rotator cuff for me 3 yrs ago.. took forever to heel too! that handle looks pretty worked was that your arm that did that or the lawnmower?

Ouch, that's going to leave a mark!!

I remember a thread like this, some gruesome stuff. Looks like your murray handle took a beating aswell.

maliburider456 05-05-2008 4:11 PM

that was my arm! i did a 360 on the transfer box and my arm went through the handle. i thought it was broken but i just bruised my muscle and may have torn some stuff. my arm pit is blue from bruising. im hoping it will be fine in 2 weeks for the pro tour

My cousin fell and had the same thing happen a few years ago when we were boarding at the same time...He bent the handle so far it wasn't even funny...and it kicked his ass too!

Tore off his $300 watch and almost ripped his wrist off while taking the watch.

Taylor. Yea that sounds accurate. I wouldn't be suprised if your entire arm turns blue/black. thats why you have two arms anyway.

osmosis spins from now on?

justcoz5 05-05-2008 11:36 PM

holy smokes you didn't break your arm? How much do u curl, 750lbs???

Hang that thing on your wall and thank God every night you have 2 arms still

maliburider456 05-06-2008 5:15 AM

haha i thought my arm was broken. my friends mom did that when trick skiing and it ripper her bicep around so i am lucky that didnt happen to me! i actually curl 850. i am pulling my friend wakeboarding and i just have to watch him ride. it is torture!

I saw Nick Davies doing roll to blinds all day long with the handle clinched in the bend of his elbow. I bet it hurt if he fell like that.

curtisco24 05-06-2008 5:41 AM

done that before major tears in the shoulder took a year to fully recover.

bvanhemmen 05-06-2008 7:30 AM

My brother did that last year. Now he has a large indent in his arm where the doctor said it was fine, but in all reality looks like it tore something in his bicep. Anyways, anyone know of a handle that reduces putting your arm through it? He's a little gun shy now since it happened twice in 2 weeks but only the last one did him in.

I was with Taylor at Gravity Research Compound this weekend when he did it and i was filming and when he fell I paddled over in the conoe and thought the handle looked weird so I picked it up and I couldn't beleave it. the rope snapped and it was hard to belive that the handle bent in half like that. I couldn't even bend it back. Me and taylor are making a video with the footage of the whole weekend today so i will post it if i have the fall on one of the tapes.

kko13 05-06-2008 6:11 PM

yeah saw a guy get is arm caught through the hanlde this weekend it wasnt pretty!! be careful!

wakedad33 05-06-2008 6:18 PM

Isn't Taylor a "she" Steven you sure you got that right Taylor.

wakebrdr38 05-06-2008 6:22 PM

wonder if that handle is covered by warranty?

maliburider456 05-06-2008 6:56 PM

what are you talking about? im a guy. yah i think it is covered by warranty. it wasnt my handle and the rope snapped too

wakebrdr38 05-06-2008 10:12 PM

how the hell do you break a spectra rope? it had to be frayed somewhere. those have a breaking stregnth of 3000 pounds and up. your arm is more likely to come off then break that!

innerlaced 05-06-2008 10:28 PM

no but i have had my head go through it, don't ask me how it happened. i still feel lucky to come away from it without breaking my neck

When I WAS a three event skier, I saw a girl go off the jump head first and her head went through the handle and dragged her. If it was'nt for the driver being very well trained she could have died. I believe all she got out of it was a broken jaw. That is part of the reason jump handles are small now (if any of you have seen a jump handle).

wakedad33 05-08-2008 11:59 AM

Taylor my bad, sorry, there is a young girl ripper that posts on here that uses Taylor M. I must have been dislexic that day.

powercorps 05-08-2008 12:07 PM

Darin Shapiro crashed once on a railey and his head went through the handle and broke the line...
