How to install stock Mastercraft cans to tower???

1 Attachment(s)
Hello, I am trying to install 2 more stock mastercraft tower speaker cans on my tower. I am confused on how to do this. The speakers sit flush against the tower, no brackets.

Am I supposed to drill through the top of the tower or what?? I attached a picture of the only mounting hardware I have.

Also can anyone help with wiring the lights on the cans?? I have an extra ACC switch on the dash... can I just run the positive wire to that or what? Do I continue that wire from the switch to the battery?

Thanks,
Chris

Yes, you have to drill from the top side of of the tower as well with that mounting bracket. The ACC switch should be hot so you can wire directly to it. Use a voltage tester and see if it is live when you switch it on.

Thanks Adam!
I am a little confused still with the drilling part. Do I just drill the smallest size possible to fit the bolt through on top of the tower tube and then even smaller on the bottom of the tower tube so it doesnt fall through?
Thanks!

Thats pretty much it Ben. The top hole has to be big enough to get that little backing plate in the tower tube if I remember correctly. I can take a picture and measure the holes on my tower on Wed or Thursday this week and post it up for you. Hope that helps.

I was told today that there is some metal piece that covers the top hole??
Is that true? IF not, what stops water from pouring in the hole?
Thanks

There is a metal cover that consists of two pieces and a screw. The larger piece sits on the top of the tower tube and a smaller piece that fits inside the tube. They sandwich together with a screw. This is how the factory speakers on my 2006 were installed.

hmmm, do you have any pictures of that part, or where to buy?
Thanks

Ben, mine didnt have the cover for the hole and I didnt have any water problems. Of course, I store my boat indoors.
