I need a little help here. Me and 5 of my buddies are going up to lake Trinity in about 2 weeks for a week cabin trip. we're taking my friends 21v supra. we want to take my RZ2 but my parents shot that plan down. his boat has the ballast from the factory which is like 1000 pounds or somewhere around that. when we're boarding there will be full ballast and 9 people in the boat. last time i rode behind the boat it seemed like it was a bit of a struggle to ride at 75 feet back doing about 23.8. in an article that i saw in a mag it said that the sweet spot on that boat is at about 65 feet. what are those of you that ride behind this boat riding at.

ive ridden behind a 21v at 75 feet, but it had over 2000# of ballast in it and the wake was great!

70 to 75 is the best spot.... move people to the front of the boat. the boat is very ass heavy and if there is too much weight in the back it will curl up on you and get real steep.... <BR>just get as much weight to the bow and next to the driver as possible and wakeplat at your preference and you will be stoked...

also... gps that speed.... i have yet to see one come out of the factory right... you may have been riding slower than you thought

We ride at 70 ft anywhere from 22.8 to 23.6 mph with the wakeplate at 50%. Thats with the upgraded ballast 1950 lbs, a 750 in the floor and about 300 in lead scattered throughout.

I have 2006 and ride 65-70 feet back at 22mph. Recently calibrated my speedo and found it was too slow as Diggs mentioned about so may want to have that checked out. I've just recently started riding at 70 so I don't land in the flats. At 70 there's not much of a curl so it's easy to correct the wake with stock balast or just shifting people around but at 75 feet it much harder. With 9 people in the boat at 75 I'd fill up the front, maybe the back at half to even the wake out if need be and then run the plate about 50%-75% and go 23-24mph. I tend to increase the plate more as the day goes on and the gas runs out. When my other buddy rides at 75 feet with only 3-4 people in the boat we have to put an extra 500lb bag in the nose to keep the wake from curling and he goes 23-24mph. Hope that helps. Supra wakes are more rampy than other boats which is why the curl happens. After riding my wake for longer periods now, I don't enjoy riding my friends 2003 mastercraft X30 as much because the wake is more round and I can't get as high..

bill, <BR>you are totally correct on everything you said except for supra wakes being rampy.... supra wakes are steep, but you can make rampier with more weight up front. supra wakes are steep typically, not steep... especially the 21v.
