For those of you who ride motoX (and for those of you who even care ) my husband finally bought me the YZ 250F that I've been wanting! We had been trying to sell our truck so we could pay cash for the bike, and sure enough we sold it last Thursday. A friend of ours just happened to get a new bike and was selling his souped up 250F. I am so excited! Now I can play with the big boys on the track...haha! The only thing that sucks is I won't be able to get my first track ride on it for 2 weeks due to work

f work! that's what sick days are for.

congrats!

buzz_grande 04-11-2005 5:58 PM

Congrats Bonnie!

Last year I bought my son an 04 YZ250F. Man!! What a bike. I have had many bikes over the years, but I was really impressed. I also really like the 4-stroke over a 2, just in my opinion. If I was to get another bike for myself, I would probably get the 250F. Plenty of power for me. That bike smokes!!

Have a blast with the new ride!

04-12-2005 5:36 AM

Thanks guys, I will definitely have fun with it! Buzz, I was riding a TTR 125 before, so the difference is uncomparable! My husband and I were sharing his bike on the track which is a '99 (I think) YZ400F - it is okay, but VERY heavy and I don't need all that power.
Joe, I wish I could use my sick days - believe me I would if I had them! Greg is getting married (!!!) in June so my husband and I are flying out for 10 days - which is taking almost every bit of vacation I have saved up for the moment.

dakid 04-12-2005 11:53 AM

greg is getting WHAT???? he's like a kid!!!

tell him congrats for me and that i send him nothing but well wishes!

i haven't really ridden a 2stroke, 'cept on the street, but i rode a 4stroke. friends told me it's much easier to ride a 4 than a 2. i'm still not sold on getting a bike. i'm so paranoid that i'll kill myself, the cluts that i am!

nkrn8 04-12-2005 6:56 PM

CONGRATULATIONS Bonnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOw I am sooooo excited for you! Take some pictures! I want to see! I won't be getting a four stroke any time soon (I wish) but I am finally learning how to keep my 2 on the pipe. hehe. Congrats again!

buzz_grande 04-12-2005 8:40 PM

Aimee,

I am sure you could bribe my kid for a ride on his anytime!!

04-14-2005 5:31 AM

Amay, I will definitely get some pictures the first chance I can. I cannot wait to get on a track now!
Good for you for learning how to keep your bike on the pipe....I think I'd have a hard time learning!
Have you been able to ride much lately? We haven't gotten out too much because my husband wadded himself up pretty good about a month ago at the track. His bike is in pieces still - he's had to rebuild a bunch of stuff. Some stupid kid ran into him right as he landed from a double! He was beat up pretty bad.
Anyway, his bike is almost ready and by the time I can actually get to a track we should be good to go! In the meantime we've just been watching SX to get our fix

A thumper, huh? That's cool. My "little" (he's bigger than me by a few inches and i'm 5'10)brother races mx. He's 16 and is going to race his first AMA Pro Outdoor Nationals this summer. We have a track here in KC www.grainvalleymx.com.. I'm trying to send a pic of me on the TL, so if the background is weird, it's cuz the file size was too big.

04-14-2005 2:59 PM

Hey, since that worked, I'll post a pic of my "lil" bro. (I'm so proud of the little rat)
the indoor pic is of my bro in Reno, NV (I think) at an AMA Pro AX

04-15-2005 5:35 AM

Nice Courtney!! I love the pics of both you and your brother. Do you ever ride on the dirt, or just the street?
I got hooked on riding MX last summer and I can't stop!

04-15-2005 12:11 PM

No dirt for me, unless you count pit bikes. Then I rock the Xtreme 107cc.

offdapeggs 04-21-2005 8:45 PM

250F is my all time favorite bike, watch out your husband will take it over.

offdapeggs 04-21-2005 8:49 PM

Hey by the way courtney is your brothers name Jeff? I am from Okla raced for a long time.

nkrn8 06-01-2005 2:48 PM

Courtney those are some great pictures! Bonnie how is your new toy??? I can't seem to go more than six months without breaking something. I am down with a broken ankle. So I wanna see some pics girlie and some riding news on your 250F! Here is one of me before I broke myself again.

06-02-2005 5:14 AM

Amay - awesome pic, girl!! I love seeing the long braid flying behind you - girls rock!!
I actually haven't ridden in about a month. It got hot here and I got the wakeboarding bug again so I've been on the lake more. Plus with the humidity here in the south it's not fun riding in the summer with all that gear on.
The last time I rode, though, we were at a different track and by the end of the day I was jumping a 25ft and 30ft double! Both were really scary to overcome because they were BIG - and the crash would have hurt real bad if I had come up short. It was a great feeling to overcome the fear and do it! If only we had gotten pictures
It's been cooler here the past week, but very rainy so I can't see us getting out on the bikes anytime soon. We'll see though.
Unfortunately 2 of our riding buddies were hurt recently (one of them broke one ankle, the other broke BOTH ankles, both had to have surgery!) so we won't have our regular group to go with. When we do go again though, I will be sure to pack the camera!

nkrn8 06-02-2005 8:51 PM

Thanks. Yeah I know what you mean doubles can be scary but Congrats on doing them anyway! I too love overcoming that fear but sometimes you don't make it... thats how I broke my ankle, but don't let that scare you. I jetted my bike differently and the powerband was off. You keep on doing it girl. Making me proud. I just had surgery last week. So I guess your friends and I will be all healed up around the same time so we can share more pics! Hehe. I am soo sad aboout having to sit it out on this summer on the lake I enjoy wakeboarding more than riding even so I am super sad it will be almost 4 months of not wakeboarding when I can again. It didn't even take me that long when I tore my MCL 2 summers ago. I was on a wakeskate after 2. Silly girl and I can't say I won't do the same when my cast comes of. Ah sometimes I scare myself.

06-02-2005 11:37 PM

Well I got the pins out of my ankle today and they were going to put me in another hard cast but I wouldn't let them so they gave me an aircast. That way I can at least get in the water.

06-03-2005 4:56 AM

Yep FJ, now you won't have to be completely helpless on the boat. Your ankle looked much better last night that it did on the day you broke it!

Amay, that really sucks about your ankle! I know what you mean about getting right back to it again though once you are healed. We were just having that discussion last night about how just because you get injured doesn't mean you should give it up for good! At least I don't think so. Sure it sucks to have broken bones and surgeries and all that, but more often than not (usually!) you are healthy more often than broken!

Oh, by the way, I need to correct myself....hehe. My husband told me last night that the smaller double I was hitting is 30 feet and the bigger one is 40 feet! That made me even more proud of myself...lol.

buzz_grande 06-04-2005 8:54 AM

Amay,

Glad you are in better spirits. You are one tough girl!

Remember, you can be my flag girl anytime. I will provide the refreshments. Just keep the crutches off the vinyl!!

Rest up!

nkrn8 06-04-2005 1:01 PM

mmmmm and aircast eh? I will have to keep that in mind... thanks for sharing. I get my stiches out mon. hehe maybe I will be back on the water sooner than later .
You betcha Buzz let me know when you going next. I am back on my study this month so packing food all week and drawing blood all weekend kinda stinks, refreshments are needed.
Bonnie you rock chicka and you should be proud! I would have to agree with you on the injury thing, injuries are just a part of it. But that more healthy than not, is not the case with me. In the last 3 years I have torn my MCL and my calf muscle, broke my arm, leg, tailbone, a couple ribs and collar bone twice. I am running about half and half. I can't seem to escape an injury that keeps me down for longer than six months. The others I still ride through and there are others. Oh did I mention I have hardware in my spine and missing a gallbladder... those were a long time ago though, so those doesn't count. I think lately it is just a run of bad luck and still won't quit despite everyones wishes. It makes me happy and I love it, I will quit when I have to. So you'll see some pics in a couple months. Buzz remember your one friend called me a walking experiment well my nurse friend just called me a walking medical dictionary, I think I like that title better. I know... I need help !
06-07-2005 9:07 AM

offdapegs- Yeah, Lil J Cruzzle. haha. He's a good kid. He just applied for his AMA Pro license for the Outdoor nats.
