Ok I just picked up my new Sanger v-210 and I have taken it out a couple of times and really have no complaints, it's a great boat. I just wanted to see how other people are placing their ballast in the boat. Mine has the stock 400 pound ballast up front and from what I heard these boats require most of the weight to be up front for a good wake. Any help would be appreciated.

I run 400 up front and about 500 in the rear. It could use more up front, but I think it's good for me right now.

You want to add 700+ to the front before adding anything to the rear IMO. I have replaced the 400 pound bag with a single airbed mattress which holds 600-700 pounds. If you want more weight than 700 add to the front and rear in equal amounts ie I carry 1100-1200 in the front and 600-700 in the back. Wake is "Pro" quality and size. Thanks that wake looks sick. I tried 750 up front and 1000 in the rear and the wake didn't look like that. I will try your suggestion.

does most of the weight work better up front on sanger boats? <BR>or is this just the V210? <BR> <BR>thanks

We have found in my 210 700 up front,400 ski locker'1000 on the back seat,and 350 in each side of the motor. The wake is BIG<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0>

Jeremy I think 1000lbs in the rear is to much. I run 275lb sacs in the rear,two blue tops in the rear, one on both sides, one popbag under each corner of rear seat, so thats a little over 700 in the rear. I run the locker sac which is only 300lbs but only fills to a little over 250lbs due to space so I run 320lbs of popbags under the bow cushions, Im guessing around 600 up front. Sometimes Ill put a 600lb sac on the floor for midweight from the drivers seat, back. In my opinion the wake is perfect.

I'm still experimenting with mine, but I've been running a 350lb sac in each rear lockers and supposedly 600lb in the locker (though I think the dimensions of the locker are limiting it to less than that). I am getting 400lbs of pop bags to put up front as it's currently too back heavy. I also second the Acme 525 prop - works great with the extra weight. <BR>Sherman - can't wait to get a ride in that sacked out 210 as that wake must be huge.

All I know is that when loaded down its one of my top three wakes.

I read on this forum before ( I think there is a picture in the archives somewhere) that the locker size in the 210 is 9 x 28 x 80, which is about .75 x 2.33 x 6.67 ft. the volume of that is 11.66 sq.ft. <BR> <BR>The internet told me that there are 7.48 gallons per sq. foot and it also told me that 1 gallon wieghs 8.34 lbs. Now sometimes the internet is a liar, so don't yell at me if I'm wrong. you can yell at me if my math sucks though cause it probably does. anyway, there should be room for 87.22 gallons in there (assuming you can get the water into every nook) which would mean potentially a maximum of 727.4 lbs. <BR> <BR>Darren, I too have a waterbed bladder kicking around and am going to try and replace the stock bag with it. I think its a double. what size was yours? are there any issues with the bag being too big? do you have to fold it, or anything like that, and is it possible to fill too much and crack the floor or anything? it seems unlikely cause when the stock back hits the floor, it just drains out the side, but I thought I would ask. <BR> <BR>also it only has one connecter, did you make a second for the two stock pumps? I'm thinking I can just cut a hole in the bladder insert a nozzle and put a hose clamp around it?

I have a friend who got a custom sack made for his v210's ski locker. i'm sure he was getting 600# plus in there. The boat actually had a pretty good wake with that and 3 200# plus men in it.

Hi Duncan, <BR>I used an single airbed mattress. Cheap and cheerful. It measures around 10" thick x 35" wide and 80" long. I use impellor pumps to fill and empty but I cut my own 1" hole and added a vent. I use skin fittings with camlock connectors so I can take the bag out easily so the locker drys and the bag doesn't get slimey. <BR> <BR>When the bag is full it pushes the inspection hatch up in the floor, I don't know what would happen in you kept on filling and the vent couldn't keep up. I suspect you don't want to test it to find out, Sangers are tough but pressurized water can blow steel tanks apart no problem.
