how did you find youre great deal boat....

30k for a new boat? How does this go down? Luck, right place right time? Just want to get some tricks and tips for the day that I have a 30k loan on stand by.........

just have to be in the right place at the right time and ready to buy .In 09 many dealers went out of business and had their inventory repossessed and law says they could only be sold for what is owed so I pounced all over it like a fat kid on cake I have not seen any deals lately as builders have limited production to keep the prices up for what i paid$ 30,000 for dealers now want $ 70,000 for good luck.......................H

I had the same thing happen. 09' was a great year if you were a buyer. So many dealers had way to many boats left over and not enough buyers. Like Harold said, now the manufacturers pretty much build to order. It's still great for people like me. After having my boat for a year, it's still worth more then I paid for it. Now that's a good deal!

so, what you are saying is I will never be able to buy a new inboard? Damn. Whay do all new boats have to have billet cup holders? Its a good thing I have no friends. That way, when I buy a Standard boat from Phil, It will look full with my four friends. now Im a sad panda.

Why buy new? there are lots of very nice low hour boats in that price range.my 05 vlx only had 140 hrs when i bought it a few months ago and looks perfect.

From the second hand info I have, in my position(where I will be when I look at boats), used loans are harder to find? But then again I have not looked into it that much yet.

Not sure i'd check around.I heard the same thing but found it very easy in fact. Most places i checked the value they had was very high so the boat at asking price was less than 80% L2V so i didnt even need a down paymen,t did down anyway but was suprised how easy it was.Credit unions had the best rate for me.

They might be taking a hit but seeing how that boat is in San Diego and has a galvanized trailer it could have been used in the salt the last 3 years. It might not be worth much more that 40k.

here's one... yes, it's salt but 13.5k for a SAN?

wakereviews 10-08-2010 6:25 AM

btw Duffy, that is a cool site, just contacted them to have them add OIB to their list of crawled sites.

csaidler 10-08-2010 7:05 AM

agreed jaxed site does look pretty awesome. as to that SAN, sounds like an awesome deal. guy says it hasnt been in the salt for almost a decade. pretty sure everything that would have been damaged by the salt would have been replaced by now. except maybe the heater since he says he never used it. wish it didnt see this til six months from now.

My 2cents.

When looking for a new late model boat. If you see a "demo" boat or a leftover ('09, '08) and the ad says to call for price. There is a good chance that it could be a smoking good deal. Dealer agreements won't allow dealers to advertise prices below a certain point. I have come across many situations like this both in my dealership and when helping a friend find a boat.
