Probably the most frustrating thing of wakeboarding is being driven by someone that really doesn't understand how to drive for wakeboarding correctly. I know there have been many threads on how to drive correctly along with articles, etc. So... I think we should get all the driving do's and don't s, along with tips, how to's (i.e. How to drive a great double up), etc. in one place.

Once we have all the information I was thinking about making a PDF file of all the information. Maybe we could even make an online book of driving.

So what do you guys think?

Perfect pass makes life wonderful. Theres nothing worse than getting pulled too fast or too slow. Almost any idiot can drive decent, as long as you have perfect pass and they can drive a straight line.

And I don't think you can really teach the perfect double up through text. It's kind of something that needs to be practiced by the driver.

Its a good idea Sam. Have you seen DETENTION with Shaun Murray. He had some good driving tips on that. Obviously the vid pre-dates PP but like was mentioned previously, a monkey can give you a solid pull with PP.

i'm still amazed by the people i find myself w/ who ride themselves yet love to drive LLLOOONNNGGG sweeping turns and like to drift from one side of the channel to the other instead of driving directly toward an imaginary target at the center and end of the canal

i think this has been done every year i've been a member of WakeWorld...someone should be able to post up the lists from previous years.

Patrick you nailed it. Quick turns and be done with it. I can not stand the long sweeping turns. I think the drivers thought behind this is that the wake will still be uniform with an "unnoticeable" turn . But the fact is, anything but straight makes the wake different.

Dave, I love Detention and there are also great tips in the new 2012 Detention. In other videos, such as MasterCraft's Rewind 08 Travis Moye has a segment on driving which is also very good.
