Seems like people are being kinda hush hush about this contest. Surely we can get somebody to spill the beans on this forum. ;)

Anybody heard about what tricks went down so far?

kyle_L 09-05-2010 3:23 PM

Harley hit a perfect back mobe 7

mckenna 09-05-2010 8:48 PM

pretty short list of riders in my opinion..... surely a wider scope of riders would lead to more progression.

Bill_Dad 09-05-2010 8:56 PM

who would you suggest then, Parks selects who he believes are the best for his event , and it is his event.
There were lots of moves tried today.

lfadam 09-05-2010 9:15 PM

16 is a pretty good number for an event like this. one day, plenty of hits for each rider and still a wide variety of styles. cant wait to see the video

I've got to agree with that, the only other people I would have like to attend was Rathy & Lyman. Rathy is injured, not sure on Lyman. There is 16 guys droppin hammers, who else would you want there?

drewproses 09-05-2010 10:35 PM

This is the coolest contest ever! I wish it was web-casted live.

after coming 2nd at bro stock.... adam fields.

off the top of my head, chris o, lyman, weatherall.

surely the more guys pushing it the better.

Bill_Dad 09-06-2010 3:28 AM

OShea was there, not sure about Lyman and why he wasnt picked, this event is about throwing new tricks that havent been done yet not just sticking a hs9 or bs7 of the double up just for example.
Would have been better if Rathy was there he is so explosive of the double up, and Bob Soven didnt ride because of injury. bob is nuts to watch hitting double ups.
Rusty threw a ts 10 straight up it was huge and insane.

Cisco 09-06-2010 8:56 AM

Sounds like it was only 14/16 riders actually competing. World Champ Dean Smith tweaked his ankle so he didn't ride. What kind of injury does Bob Soven have?

daveronix199 09-06-2010 9:13 AM

ahahaha give it 5 minutes some one will spill the beanz on the Famous WW

Second adam fields.

I guess when you guys (the one's complaining about the competitor list) get to Park's status and have your own double up contest you can decide who is invited.

ghettofab 09-06-2010 9:55 AM

there were over 7 camera men there shooting for the Double or Nothing TV Show. 2 Red Cameras as well. Its going to be insane. Sean Kilgus was in the helicopter all day getting insane shots. We had high reaches, jetskis.

make sure you check it out. Going to be insane!

captain_vilfo 09-06-2010 12:28 PM

where would you be able to view this contest?

solo 09-06-2010 12:50 PM

This event is a media event only. Only sponsors and top media onsite for the most part. I'm sure it will be broadcast at some point. It's not just about new tricks, what about the big air prize? The fact that the riders themselves judge this event makes it unique. Bummed I couldn't be there.

pnichols 09-06-2010 1:14 PM

There's some info about the contest on Alliance.

Here's the link with some pics too.

captain_vilfo 09-06-2010 3:31 PM

I really wanna see this double front Parks stomped...

jsweat 09-06-2010 7:23 PM

I thought Vandall was supposed to be riding as well.

tripsw 09-06-2010 10:06 PM

Watson posted 2 clips on facebook. Parks' double mobe (?) and Steel's (?) BS10 iirc. Did Harley win?

hyperlite 09-07-2010 4:56 AM

holy shizzzzz

jarrod 09-07-2010 8:01 AM

I need to see video of the back mobe 7. That sound sweet.

ya thats the main reason i didnt compete this year

mtownrydr 09-07-2010 10:22 AM

Did Chad Sharpe not ride??

stephan 09-07-2010 12:30 PM

What I wouldn't give to watch this event, amazing to see that this sport is still progressing at a ridiculous level!

I love how after so many successful years on tour, hugely popular pro models, all while riding for Mastercraft, Alliance can still manage to misspell Andrew's last name!

lmao

wakemikey 09-07-2010 12:59 PM

No offense but I REALLY think helicopters are not that cool when it comes to filming boarding. I mean not would it be impossible to concentrate with the copter over head, but it would really kill the soul vibe, IMHO of course. THe event is awesome and the tricks are insane.

jarrod 09-07-2010 2:51 PM

I'm interested in hearing more about how the helicopter kills the "Soul Vibe." :-)

andy_nintzel 09-07-2010 3:54 PM

me too!

dococ 09-07-2010 5:36 PM

It has been told by prophets for the better part of a century, beginning with the late Marcus Garvey and continuing up through recent times with Saul Williams, that 'Soul Vibe' always rotates in a clockwise direction. There is report of some lost Bob Marley lyrics to this effect, but apparently his estate currently is fighting over the rights to those.

But in any case, because chopper blades in the US rotate counter-clockwise, those two things effectively cancel each other out, which is just no fun at all. However, if Parks wanted to run this contest in Europe, where chopper blades rotate in the other direction, then the soulful effect could be exponential. Problem is, supposedly it's really hard to get good weed in Europe, which is, like, such a bummer, man. Maybe Amsterdam.

tripsw 09-07-2010 9:45 PM

Hehe, 10 points for dococ!

hyperlite 09-08-2010 4:07 AM

Hahahahaha....

jonb 09-10-2010 3:39 PM

Yea Mastercraft has a pic of him on their facebook saying congrats on the win at Parks DOUBLE or Nothing. Nice payday for one event 10K.

greg_smith 09-15-2010 12:05 PM

what? parks landed a double front roll? did they actually mean double half cab roll, or...?? i don't think i've heard of anyone ever landing a double front roll. i would think the trifecta would be easier seeing as how you land on your heelside edge.
