Prop Help
So I ended up chewing my prop this weekend on a hidden shoal and I need a replacement. Boat is a 97 Prostar 205, live in denver (5000ft elevation), ford 351, power slot transmission, typically run around 2000+ lbs for boarding and surfing but also use the boat for slaloming so Id like to keep the top speed in the mid 30's. What prop should i get?

If you send of an email to www.wakeprops.com they will be able to tell you exactly what you need!

CB,
What are you running now, OJ 14x18? I think you could get some more low end without a huge reduction in top end by lowering the pitch. The elevation is a killer. Call WakeProps. |
I have a 97 205 but it is an indmar 350 1:1 and I like acme 543. Are you sure the specs are right? Ask on mc team talk if you don't get your answer here.

CB, where did you hit something?

How bad is the old prop? The Prop Doctor in West Denver on Alameda (I think they recently renamed it to something else) repairs props as long as the damage doesn't extend too far to the center section of the prop where it gets thicker.

Jims prop repair in Wheat Ridge fixes them up as well

Current prop is an OJ 13x16....
I am sure the boat specs are right. Hit something out at Navajo, we were taxiing about 100 yards off the shoreline in 45ft of water and out of nowhere the depth finder went to 3ft, have no idea what we hit. It mangled the prop pretty good tho, chewed it all the way from the base of the blade to the tip. No vibrations and no damage to the tracking fins or rudder tho. |
Get your old one fixed and repitched if you want. Always nice to have a backup especially when camping
