X-15 - Wake sweet spot

Just got delivery of a new X-15, my first boat. Spent past weekend on lake. I would like to get advice on what the best setup is for having the best wake. With full ballast on and at 70 feet, the wake felt very nice... large, dense, with great transition.... but it felt wide. I usualy ride at 75 feet and 21 mph, but was forced to shorten to 70 feet because of wake width. In fact even at 70 it is kind of on the wide side. Problem is that 70 feet line feels short. The wake narrows at higher speeds. Is this the only way around width issue?

I would appreciate pointers on what the best setup is from anyone with experience with mastercrafts in general and x-15 in particular. Should I be adding a sac in the front? Ride faster? Does the atitude plate affect widht? I learned to ride on nautiques, at they felt like they had a narrower wake. Are MC wakes wider in general?

Any pointers on how best to setup this boat would be much appreciated

Thanks!

Definitely gotta speed up. Mastercraft's have a pretty wide wake and 21 mph is way too slow for 75 feet. We had an X-30 that I rode at 75 feet and I think around 24.0 - 24.2 MPH and now to an X-Star riding 80 feet, 24.7 - 25.0 MPH. Try going about 23.0 - 23.5 MPH and you should be set. Don't worry about faster speeds though, the transition will be a lot easier than you will expect it to be. A lot of people freak out when they go faster, especially a jump of 2 MPH, but it's a step in the right direction.

I have an 08 x-15. factory ballast full. 400# extra in each rear locker, 750# in the walkway close to the front but not all the way. 22-23 mph. Wake should be very good. Hope this helps.

we ride at about 75-80 ft.

I ride behind an x-30 and x-1 and either boat you really have to be riding around 23-24 to have a nice solid wake.

add a little more weight to the bow or the ske locker area. You think the wake is dense stock....just wait. Also, adding a little weight up front will narrow up that wake so you can ride a little slower. Also, I agree with speeding up...
