finally got to hit up the lake this past spring break..i've been so tied up with school and work i havent had time. there were only two wakeboard boats on the lake and both of us were riding, besides someone on a slalom. water wasnt too bad so i trunked it. just wondering who all out there's from texas. me and my buddies plan on taking a few road trips this summer so it'd be nice to maybe hook up with some people...

lance_ss 03-22-2005 7:41 PM

blake_hughes 03-22-2005 9:00 PM

I'm from the Fort Worth area, but I currently live in San Diego. You ought to check out the riding at the Brazos River, off Tin Top Rd, west of Fort Worth. There's some really good riders out there, and nice water too.

-Blake

lance_ss 03-22-2005 9:17 PM

lance_ss 03-23-2005 8:26 AM

if you're every around temple, if you've ever heard of it, then id be more than happy to give anyone a ride. belton is a nice big lake w/ lot's of secret spots texas is a long way from NH!

denverd1 03-23-2005 8:31 AM

Whattup TX ppl.
Taylor, nice quote. Go to "find a third/be a third" and post the dates you'll be in here and specifically where you'll be. if its one weekend or three months.
Lance, I live in Tyler, 2 hrs. east of Dallas. Definitely planning a few road trips this summer, so we'll have to stay in touch.
Kevin, no its small. a couple of hours by boat to mexico.

ridn9high 03-23-2005 9:07 AM

If any of you make up to Lexisville or Texoma area let me know. Will be planting my feet in Southern Oklahoma next week and will be living 5 minutes from Lake Texoma.

dkmode34 03-23-2005 9:47 AM

im from lubbock but we only have like 1 good lake around here. The texas tech team is helping fix up a local lubbock lake with a couple sliders and stuff like that but wakeboarding really isnt that big around here

xxplosive 03-23-2005 10:00 AM

I live in Austin during the summers, ride Lake Austin, and Travis all the time.

pawmurray 03-23-2005 10:02 AM

Houston, Austin and Dallas all have wakeboard clubs.
Taylor-The website for our club in Houston is www.gcwa.com

lance_ss 03-23-2005 12:35 PM

there's quite a few riders around texas..but doesnt seem to me many where im from, the closest big scene is austin, then dallas. but yeah i plan on a few trips this spring and summer so us texas guys gotta stay in touch

512boarder 03-23-2005 7:27 PM

hey lance! im from cedar park but im in belton a lot b/c i have a really good friend who lives there. i love wakeboarding and me and my friends usually ride lakes austin and travis, but when im in belton on belton lake, it is usually in my friends pontoon boat, so it would be pretty awesome if we could meet up at belton lake sometime this summer or weekend soon or whenever.
Taylor- my grandparents live in conroe and we go to that lake all the time also! we have never brought a wakeboard boat there but if u wanted to meet up sometime and find a ride that would be awesome. im not really around conroe during the summer much but thanksgiving im up there lol.

pappasurf 03-24-2005 1:22 PM

I'm from Dallas as well. If you are ever in the area its pretty easy to find a ride. Just go to www.dallaswakeboarding.com there is a section dedicated to finding pulls.

fuel 03-24-2005 2:04 PM

I grew up skiing on Belton. Anyway, I just moved back to the area, so if you want to hook up and ride just holler.

ridn9high 03-24-2005 2:28 PM

Wow, there is a lot more riders in this general area than I thought there was. When I rode last summer we were the only boat on the lake during the week. On the weekend the place was crowded and never saw a boat with a tower. Maybe it will not be all that hard to find a third during the week after all.

lance_ss 03-24-2005 6:32 PM

anytime anyone around here wants to ride then let me know on here or email me at LcWpmp915@aol.com. im always up for helpin people out, and it'd be nice to go up to dallas sometime this summer or something

andystrawn 03-25-2005 9:46 AM

its hard to find good water around austin, so many people have boats now

512boarder 03-25-2005 11:07 AM

mornings and during the week are when it is best. at both lake austin and some parts of lake travis

centraltxrider 03-27-2005 9:50 PM

sup lance. cold water sucks. so does my broken binding. anyone familiar w/ slalom shop in lewisville? and know if they fix bindings?

lance_ss 03-27-2005 9:56 PM

hey nick if you're ever in belton then email me or hit me up on here and we could give you a pull. then maybe you'd do the same for me and my friends if we come down to austin...

superair 03-28-2005 8:47 AM

If anyone is up on lake texoma email me to ride.

later
Shawn

pappasurf 03-28-2005 12:26 PM

Brandon, I seriously doubt that the Slalom Shop fixes bindings. They might be able to send them off to the manufacturer, but they spend most of their time dealing with their large boat customers, not on proshop items.

tino7 03-30-2005 6:45 AM

Brandon,
Just went to slalom shop last week. Part of my overlay was ripped and the guy just gave me the piece no charge. he said they would fix it for me if i wanted, but i just ended up doing it myself.

pierce_bronkite 03-30-2005 6:52 AM

I once dinged my board which I did not buy from them and they fixed it there for free on the spot. They also replaced my Vapor vest for free because the padding moved around.

The guys that work their are riders too so they know that their clientele are riders not yacht owners.

How is the leg Scott?

denverd1 03-31-2005 8:36 AM

Tino ~ whats up man? you ridin caddo this summer?

pappasurf 03-31-2005 10:14 AM

Pierce, the leg is coming along. I'm still on crutches till the 25th. However, my jones for the water has gotten the better of me. I'm planning on going out on my boat this Saturday. At least I can enjoy the sun, friends and beer.

I'm glad to hear that the Slalom Shop is going out of their way to help out their customers. It sounds like they may be trying to better their service.
