piper907 10-26-2012 11:16 PM

No need to think twice.
Its already been said... Just give Jeff a call at SoulCraft and you will be good to go!

tonyv420 10-27-2012 12:51 PM

Reez 10-27-2012 1:13 PM

Damn.... No other recommendations? Was looking at some phase 5 buy need to check out sc I guess

wakebrdjay 10-27-2012 1:30 PM

Do you want a surf or skim?If you want a skim you don't want SC,they are surf style.I don't think he builds skims yet.Phase 5 are all skim style.

wakemitch 10-27-2012 2:20 PM

If you're looking for a phase 5, the Danielo Diamond and Danielo Pro Carbon are very poppy.

SoulCraft,The Walker Project,Brigade Wakesurf,Idol,Airbaze,Evercarve,Mendonesia and Shred Stixx are all great companies and all have great products.Check them all out since they all have something unique to offer.

If you can goto denver and ride with Squid! Demoing the boards is the way to go IMHO.

I am about you same size and I love the fly Boy by inland surfer.
At the polar bear my favorite board was the walker project signature 4'9".

Make sure you check out the polar bear rankings due out soon also!

duffymahoney 10-29-2012 10:12 AM

X2 for demo! All boards have pro's and cons. And all take a little getting used to. Most of the boards mentioned are a lot more fragile then your current board so you will need to treat it carefully.

Squid 10-29-2012 11:34 AM

and at Squid's Wake we have all the boards to put a smile on your face...just off the lake and not offering demos tell early April 2013....after I have some more demo stock I'll start shipping them out to people but we can only forecast that service next winter..so for now we play in the bath tub.....lol

tollie12 10-30-2012 9:40 AM

Check out the IDOL's. WWW.idolsurf.com Squid will have some by spring!!

2 boards not yet mentioned that you should consider for 2013:
  • 2013 Inland Surfer Big Boy (the Flyboy for the bigger kids)
  • 2013 Inland Surfer Keenan Flegel Surf Pro Model

Peep out their new catalog @ http://inlandsurfer.com/issue2/index.html

I guess one of my issues is that I have never ridden a skim style board. Not sure where I could demo out here in Michigan. I feel like skim would be slightly more but then again. Basically all ive done is some carving on the Giant Koal i have

A nice intermediate board with a price range between a mass produced and custom boards are the triple x boards. Made pretty well and fun. The Nitro and slayer are fun. It won't be to long before you will progress to something a little more serious. I have had a walker project f18. I really enjoy it the next walker board I would progress to would be the signature or bomb pop. I like the sig, but lots of folks enjoy the bomb pop. I have recently ridden a couple of soulcrafts and really enjoyed them too. The Jetty and the sex panther. These two have been my favorites. I see one of these in my near future. plus i like to support small makers that i have had the good fortune of meeting. I did ride an inland surfer swallow and mucus. The swallow was a bit hard for me to move around. The mucus was fun and quick. I enjoy the flyboy as well.
Sorry lots of rambling, hope a few different names give ya something to think about.

A good crossover board that I enjoyed was the phase5 model x, I dont ride skim but it was a freakin sweet board...

drnate 11-07-2012 12:36 PM

Yeah, the Triple X boards can be had for a lot cheaper. I have a used Nitro that I would part with. If you're interested, PM me.
