Wakeskate St. Louis - Meramec River

I'm moving up to St. Louis area (Chestefield/Wildwood) in December and am looking for a small river to run with a 16' jon boat to skate behind. How far can you go up the Meramec River?

Thanks
Kirk

Depends on the season and the rain. I've seen people with Wakeboats near 55 when the water is high, so I would assume you could go well past 44 bridge with a jon boat, if not much farther.

You can easily go upstream (which is north) under the I-44 bridge, at least until the "Big Bend" to the west. I haven't been back there since the late '80's, but back then there was a ramp just south of the I-44 bridge by about half mile or so. That stretch of water was decent for slalom skiing. Should be fine for wakeskating behind light craft.

Thanks for the advice. We are house hunting this week and I'm trying to decide between a 1 acre pond and a house in a flood plain.
