Tower Speaker - Help

ok so im looking to put a pair of tower speakers on my Mobius. I know Wet Sounds are pretty much the best, but im not trying to break the bank account. I need a pair with Aluminum style finished shell and bullet styled. Can anyone offer up some suggestions?

I know that aren't super high end but for the money I have Polk DB651 and they sound great pair those up with a couple cans and you've got it made. Even better rather than getting a pair you could go to 4 they are so affordable and still have some money to spare....Just my .02

go exile audio the best!

Not sure what your budget is. But we now have some more cost effective tower speakers. Our SST-65 tower speaker is $499 pair http://www.wetsounds.com/pages/products/SST-65.html and the XST-650 is $579 pair

So you can still get the best quaility and support with Wet Sounds.

I have been real stoked on my Exile stuff this year too. Got 4 on the tower and installed a 15" exile sub yesterday. I will have pics once it is totally done.
Bottom line is everyone is going to push what they have and are happy with. Lots of good choices on the market.

05mobiuslsv 06-22-2010 7:35 AM

Tyler it looked and sounded real good too.

tyler97217 06-22-2010 7:37 AM

Yeah it was good to meet another WW'er from another area.

I got four XM7, and the harpoon amp and they are awesome. Call Brian at Exile Audio, he is a great guy and will help you though the process and tell you everything you will need. I could not be happier with their customer serivce.

Tyler likewise, nice to put a face with a screen name.. Them Exile boys are brewing up some cool stuff over there.

JD - lots of good choices out there for sure. Exile just released a new speaker for guys with your needs. It's Called SXT65 and is aimed at the surf market for guys wanting high quality sound without all the over the top performance of a Pro audio driver that the XM7 includes. This speaker sounds fantastic, looks bad ass and has the best warranty in the industry. The SXT65 retails for 499.00.

Also worth a mention, we just finished a "perfect fit" sub woofer enclosure setup for your make/model/year. Here's a video link if your curious. Not on our website yet. Check it out if you have time...always fun to see whats out there

Those a very nice looking and the sub enclosure is awesome! What are the details on the SXT65?

colombiansurfer 06-22-2010 11:36 AM

That custom box video is great!

05mobiuslsv 06-22-2010 1:10 PM

Hate I've heard them, they're all about SQ and performance without the projection characteristics of an HLCD setup.

hatepain 06-22-2010 1:30 PM

Thats what I figured at that price point. I am thinking of going to a non HLCD the next time I do a tower set up but running 6 of them instead.

05mobiuslsv 06-22-2010 1:39 PM

I've done that with Skylons on my last boat, sounded really good. Of course it didn't project as far as HLCD but that's the point right......

DKidneyBean 07-20-2010 10:15 PM

Places to buy?

Are there any websites that sell more than one brand of HLCD speakers?

Are there any other brands to research besides?

Wetsounds
Bullet
Exile
Krypt
Kicker

Thanks

bawshogg 07-21-2010 9:54 AM

Earmark marine has a few brands, look them up. David is all over these boards and is always good help.

Maybe I am getting old, dunno, but I am liking this idea lately myself too. Been looking into it.

Thanks bawshogg

Thanks for the website.

Hey, I know I saw a tower speaker brand that had the cans that would spin to point forward,
but has anyone ever seen speakers that have a adjustable position that would allow them to face straight down (toward the seats) when anchored up in a cove or a beach? thanks
