I have been looking at lakefront properties in Georgia and stumbled across Lake Sinclair, beautiful lake, beautiful houses but there was 304 listings. Is this due to the fact that its a massive lake or is there something wrong with it?
Whats the deal, anyone ever been there?

I have property there and there are several others on this board as well that live there. I live in Florida but make it a point to go there at least a full week long in the summer, and we travel that way for several long weekends as well. The biggest complaint you will hear is that a large portion of the lake has seawall and on a crowed day, i.e. a holiday of some sort, it can make for somewhat rough conditions for wakeboarding. That being said, We go on off holiday times and the water could not be smoother. There are numerous coves which are great for riding. It is also a GA power owned lake which is great in the sense that it appears that it will always have water. While many others in GA and FL suffer from water loss, Sinclair is still full. It fluctuates about 11-18" a day in water level depending on the power plant. Oh and that's the other great part. That power plant allows for some great winter riding. Warms the water in the nearby area about 10 degrees which really helps when the water temp is sitting around 60-65. I hope this helps. I will see if I can find a pic or two of our location.

go for it , we need more people at sinclair , in the summer we ride 2/3 times a week and this is the only lake in georgia that is Hydro powered and the water level never goes down like the others. i plan to surf this weekend at the plant, the water is always 10 degrees warmer . check out myspace www.myspace.com/lakewakes

uhh did not read your post Brian before my post , we need to hook up when you get in town, i seem to miss you the last 2 times. I hooked up with Chris when he flew in from california.

If your looking at Sinclair don't forget to check out Sinclair's twin brother Oconee. They're both almost the same lake, only separated by the dam. Winter riding is a little better by the power plant on Sinclair because of the warmer water. If your looking for lakefront property I wouldn't bother looking at oconee though unless your a millionaire. No matter which lake you ride on you should still check out my shop, in Greensboro, Since it's the only Wakeboard shop in the area (I have no shame when business is as slow as it is right now). It's behind the publix in Greensboro.

ai_rider 01-29-2008 8:41 AM

Mark, we def need to get out and ride. We had some issues last year and were not able to meet up with Chris but all is well. I am beginning at planning some times to come up. I will let you know for sure.

lakeside5_10 01-29-2008 8:50 AM

Did someone mention my name??? What up Mark? How is everything? I have an acre on Sinclair and live in San Diego. I bought the property to build a summer home for my family because there was an abundance of property on the lake. First of all, the lake is huge but new houses are going up everyday. Our property has already appreciated significantly in the 2 years since we bought it. I was able to spend a week there this summer and the riding was epic. Thanks again Mark for the pull..can't wait to do it again!

was anyone out there

lakeside5_10 02-04-2008 7:09 AM

just me and about 800 fisherman

jnelson 02-04-2008 8:34 PM

stay away from this lake it has tons of gators and some really bad boat theft stuff going on. The power plant causes birth defects and I heard they were draining it summer 2008 so they can build a football stadium for the nearby collage.

Just kidding. Its a great lake I spend a great deal of time here. Any questions or if anyone wants to ride look me up. I also know of a lake lot with a double wide around 200 in forest lake village.

lakeside5_10 02-05-2008 11:06 AM
