slammed x15 question
 

Has anyone ever slammed an x-15? What was the result? Can this boat handle 4,000 lbs +? Please tell me how this wake compares to other top wakes. Thanks,

I have had that much weight in it but was wakesurfing. the boat handled fine just take it easy on stops and turns

I've never ridden one with 4K but we added about 1200-1500 to the factory set up and it was really nice. The wake is a little bit more vert than an X-Star, it has a good shape with good pop. I really only rode it that once so I don't have any pics.

The transom seems taller than an X-Star so I would guess it would handle the weight. A fully loaded Star can take water over the transom if you just let off the throttle, I don't know if the 15 would do that but like I said it seems taller than a Star so I would guess it would be less of an issue. Easing off the throttle and turning slightly solves this issue anyways.

I have had about 3k in my x-15. Little piggish but no problems. Just watch the bow.

With the X-15, the wake just keeps getting better - the more weight you put in.

I regularly have about 3000 lbs in my X-15 and it is awesome - stock ballast with fly high X-star set up on top of it.
To have it all ballanced out, I typically fill the back sacks only 2/3rds.

Occassionally, I fill the back all the way and throw an whole extra sack in the bow. With 4 guys in there, it is probably pushing 4000 lbs.
Those are the days when I make sure to bring out a camera.
When I have that much weight, the wake is huge. It is really fun.
I save the 4K to special occasions - because the next day I am usually pretty sore form landing all the huge airs.

It is just important to have all that weight balanced correctly. If you have people sitting in the back, you will need to compensate with even more weight in the bow. If you have too much weight in the back, the boat will drive poorly and you will have trouble keeping speed. Sometimes, it is just a matter of one person moving forwar a bit.

At 3000lbs and lower, it isn't so finicky. Once you bump into the 4K range - weight balance becomes really important.

I have the trim plate on my X-15. The trim plate really helps when starting out.
I trim it all the way down to get the boat out of the hole. Once I am at wakeboarding speed, I have the trim put all the way up - which makes the wake perfect.

If you have the trim plate all te way up - you might never get up with 4k lbs in the boat.

What speed and rope length your riding at with 3-4k?? Ive had trouble finding the perfect spot. I also ride in shallow water 7-10ft. So i know that effects some of the wake. Sorry for the thread jack

I have been in Dave's X-15 with 4k in it and 3 guys. The wake is real big. Double ups are crazy big. I agree with dave when he says that you need to balance the weight correctly for wake and driving purposes. I would say go for it with the weight just play with it until you find out exactly how you want it.

The set up on the photo was my x 15 with in the rear 2 sachs with 594 lbs each.On top of the sack,s 4 lpg tanks with 387 lbs total.In the front 400 lbs and 160 lbs lead on top of the stock ballast.
The problem on my lake is that its only 4 or 5 feet deep. On deep water its hard too get the boat on speed.You need the wakeplate in that case.
