I love seeing pictures of everyones boats packed with as much weight as possible! Can remember about 3 years ago in wakeboarding mag. seeing a supra sitting lower than any boat i have ever seen. Lets see some of you guys rides!
Cue Coops 215 slammed and the old wakeworld ghost.
well this isnt really slammed. but its the most weight we have ever had in out boat. <BR> <BR>we had about 1600 lbs of water. <BR>then 6 people in the boat <BR>its the biggest our wake has ever been. <BR>considering its a 22 foot sea ray, i dont think its to bad at all <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0> mike powell had no problem throwing some scarecrows tantrums, 3's and some huge backrolls <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772376.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772377.jpg" alt="Upload">

Twitch, are you talking about the all black one? That is a good pic as well. I want to see some slammed xstars as well. They just look so sexy on the water when slammed.

WOW <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/crazy.gif" border=0> how much weight is in that sanger???
For the love of god, how does that boat even move? haha
Keller- thats painful to look at, especially when you see all the effort that went into customizing that 2001.
thats ALOT of weight in the back of that 2001 you would think the wake would be kind of soft with not much weight in the front.
heres one of our local shops Woly boat from last yr. 08 vlx <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772524.jpg" alt="Upload">

Hyco X-star...... fully slumpin. <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772559.jpg" alt="Upload">
My old Prostar sacked out with about 1300lbs. Later on that day I had 6 peeps in the boat while pullin a rider...Everybody had to lean up to get her to plane but she was still a beast.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772582.jpg" alt="Upload">
Darren, <BR> <BR>Who's old school X-Star is that and where is that located? Just curious...Looks just like ours was when we bought it. Thanks.
Evan, how long is your Prostar? We did the same thing to my 17.5' Bayliner, best wake we ever got behind it.
Where the pic of the ol Supra with the nose half way under water?
Richard, are you thinking of the old malibu Echelon? <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/772620.jpg" alt="Upload">
Awesome! But I don't think this one ^^^ was on purpose!
Someone mentioned in the other thread that they were taking on water but I think the picture makes it look a lot worse than it actually is. If he has some extra weight in the boat with 7 people it doesn't take much to get the bow under water. Plus from the picture it looks like he is in the trough of the wake so the bow is under water and the rear is close.
Wow. Those guys in the malibu are retarded. JUMP OUT OF THE BOAT, and let the drive get it on shore!
That picture is from a guy on the Malibu Crew. He said the boat was just fine and it was not loaded or in purpose.
Thw way the water goes over the front of the boat looks very photo-shopped to me.
What about it looks fake?
I had the exact thing happen to me last year at Seafair. I was out in an 83 prostar and yacht passed me going maybe 7 knots. The wake it was throwing wasn't huge but when his second wake caught me it pushed the nose down straight into the wave and water came over the bow. It probably looked crazy to the people around me but it really wasn't that big of a deal.
One of the guys we ride with has a sportster and we put a sack where the back seat is one on each side of engine and a sack in the bow plus 2-3 people. and when the rider falls and we stop to pick them up the bow does that every time.
Ya, but notice the barefooter boom sticking out. Why would you weight a boat down for barefooting? That can't be on purpose...
Wow that's crazy, you guys got any pics of the wakes?
i did that to my 2001 on a few occations, where water didnt come over the winshield but did creep up and the only thing between us and a whole bunch of water was the windshield. thats what low freeboard closed bow boats do. open bow would be full of water <BR>1
^^ <BR>Is it summer yet? (trentj6930) <BR>it was not loaded or in purpose
I have a 2000 MB DD. When I am loaded and have a few people in my boat I can dip the rub rail on the bow in the water if I come off plane to fast. When the wake catches up to the back of the boat it lifts the stern and will dip the front. I generally can't have anyone sit in the bow for the same reason. <BR> <BR>Also can be scary when the wind comes up on our lake and every second wave is comin over the bow. Can't wait to get a new boat one day so I don't have to worry about it so much. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by bcrider on February 03, 2010)

In a closed bow it is fun to take water over the bow. I do it all the time on purpose to soak the people sitting in the observers seat.
This is the answer from the owner of the "slammed" Malibu Echelon discussed above. It was discussed over at the Malibucrew. <BR> <BR>"That happened with no ballast either. But I did have 7 people in the boat. Which is why I was going to tell you to take it easy on the weight. I was idling along, no problem, stern got lifted by a wave and the same time another wave was coming. Wrong place, wrong time, not really sure but it happened really quickly and if I wasn't an experience driver it probaby would have gotten really ugly. I was able to put it in reverse and the water came to the top of the windshield, but not over it. <BR> <BR>It doesn't take long for these lower boats to to fill up. I'v seen it"
What boat has the highest bow? Seems like most slope down and SCOOP!
Epics seem to have a higher freeboard...not sure about weighted though

One of our old 210s and the wake on the same day. The rider is around 6' tall <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/773242.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/773243.jpg" alt="Upload">

This is not me, some crazy guy on my lake, funny... <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/773271.jpg" alt="Upload">

Don't got a pic, but when my fatha came around to pick me up once, a loaded X-Star came by, and the two wakes put the whole bow under and the rest filled up nice too.
The guy that owns that VLX with the flames is on wakeworld all the time.
Boats look so sexy when they're sittin' all low in the water. Love the picture of the Sanger in the fog, Richard!
Yup, that's the famous Robert Mitchell photo. <BR> <BR>I'd post a picture, but we run stock ballast only per manufactures recomendations. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/wink.gif" border=0>
That was FUNNY Evan....I spit out some soda when I read that. <BR> <BR>And I don' count a boat going through another wave or coming off plane, It's legit when it is sitting still or turning around ! I have a pic of my Moomba slowing down and the thing looks slammed and it only had stock ballast....Not the same as Slammed inmy book.
That was a good one, Evan. Love it. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>Oh, and that Sanger in the fog is excellence. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by lifetimewarranty on February 06, 2010)

To me, Johns boat is my fav! It's not sunk to the rub rails but it has the best looking wake IMO! I LOVE that old 210 wake! I see alot of these boats slammed but where are the wake pics to follow? Let's see the outcome of these slammed boats!
Here is my 210 with about 3200lbs. in her. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/3183/774021.jpg" alt="Upload">

I'll play: <BR> <BR>1976 Vanguard with a fly high fat seat (~800 pounds) and the front fuel tank (~200 pounds) of ballast. Then add 700 pounds of riders, plus 4 full jerry cans, 4 wakeboards, a skate, and other miscellaneous gear and we were over 2000 pounds in the poor thing! <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>for some reason it won't let me embed the picture....if someone else can or let me know what I'm doing wrong that would be great.

J-Rod, is chuctronics even still in business anymore?
Rian did a great install on my first boat I brought to him, then did a good install (not so great tune on it as the first) then the third install on the same boat didn't even happen and my boat sat in his shop ALL winter. Since then it seems like he fell of the face of the earth. |
If your swim step isn't under the water, then your boat probably isn't that slammed and shouldn't be posted...
There’s a platform under there somewhere.... 2400lbs ballast and 17 people...

The glory days of WW. Went it wasn't about 150K boats and incomes.
I agree^^^
Back when we where all trying to figure out how to make our ballast systems faster and stuff weight anywhere. My 24' supra is ankle deep and real easy to dip the nose with close to 4000 pound in it. I just don't have a good picture with it sitting that low. |
