how many of you guys snowboard during winter? and is it similar to wakeboarding?
|
Snowboarding during winter is a lot better than during summer. It is similar to wakeboarding in that you use a board to glide across the water, but in snowboarding the water is frozen and there is no boat.

snowboarding and wakeboarding are the best crossover sports than any other two comparable sports. after wakeboarding for 5 years i started to snowboard and it took about 1 season to get to a point where i was equally as good in each sport.

snowboarding is more of an individual sport though. you dont have the boat to get back into after each set and hang out with friends and family. your up on the hill riding by yourself really, you may be with friends or family but they are riding at the same time so they arent watching you and your not watching them. plus, you dont have girls in bikinis

I snowboard and complain constantly how it's not wakeboarding. The actual riding goes hand in hand with the other enough that they contribute to each sport. It's still not quite the same, weighting is different (you're going downhill vs a level surface), you're not being pulled, and dude where's the handle when I spin?

As Jason also pointed out... there's too many clothes, at least until the hot tub parties.

A lot of my friends say that snowboarding has helped their wakeboarding. My advise to you if your thinking about snowboarding in the off season is DO IT! I personally do not think they are similar enough to be of use to each other, but they are both fun.

luke, snowboarding for me ruins my wake tricks.... especially spinning. you spin off the jump on a snowboard but you cant do that wakeboarding... it messes everything up.lol
|
If it wasn't for snowboarding, I have no idea how I could make it through the winter here in the NW
|
I'm with Michel... snowboarding is almost counter-productive to me
|
but snowboarding is bad as* and i couldnt live without it so i can make the sacrifice
