I dont know a whole lot about still cameras, anyway.... I am looking to buy digital cameras that cost around $250. Anywhere from 4-6 megapixels is fine. I have spent alot of my budget on other stuff and right now I have about $2750 to spend on 10 cameras. Im not worried about the memory cards because I already have a ton of then(all varieties and sizes).

These need to be simple point and shoot cameras that doesnt require much work. I know the camera with the most megapixels isnt always the best. What brands are good and which should I stay away from?

In summation, what is the best camera I can get for around $250?

What will you be shooting with the camera ? If your shooting action I'm not very optimistic that you'll find a decent camera for 250.00

Take a look at the Canon A-95 but it might be a little over budget.

check out http://dpreview.com/ they have a great camera review.

I will be shooting stills shots only , zero motion.

toolfan,

There are tons of cameras out there for that price and in that megapixel range. bhphotovideo.com is a great place to start shopping. Not the lowest price around, but very reputable. Make sure you don't get import models for cheap $$$. It is tough to point you in a certain direction, because in that price range there is so much available. Sounds like you may need something a little more durable...

I'm always partial to the companies that make the higher end SLRs...Nikon, Canon, Fuji, etc.

dtw.
www.shannonwilseyphoto.com (our website)
email me if you have more specific questions
dave@sha nnonwilseyphoto.com
