wetsounds 6x9 speaker

I'm looking into a Malibu lsv and they offer the wetsounds 6x9
Speaker for the tower I'm wandering if they sound good or just spend the money on rev
10's
Thanks for any info

I'm pretty sure the 6X9's aren't HLCD's and the Rev 10's are.

HLCD will be like wearing headphones on the water and hit over 100db. 6x9's will be loud and audible from 70 ft as well, but definitely nothing close to the HLCD.

If your spending the money on a new wakesetter go for the Rev 10s. You'll end up wanting to upgrade soon otherwise.

If those are you're options, it's a no brainer. REV10s all the way. TONS more mid bass and they are HLCD

The 6x9s are an HLCD. The Rev 10s are still going to sound better though.

David,

The PRO 696 are an HLCD. They sound great and have a nice balance of sound in terms of output and mid bass punch. They are close to a PRO 80. So the two pairs on the Malibu give great sound in and around and for the rider. However the mid bass is a 6x9 size. So stepping to the REV 10 nets you a 10 inch mid bass driver. So in terms of output and volume, the larger cone size nets more volume (but also needs more power) So depends on your sound goals. If good tunes for the rider and in and around the boat, and like the look of the factory installed housings with our PRO 696, that is great option. If you want more volume, then the G3 adapters with dual REV 8 and dual REV 10. Or our single G3 adapters with a single pair of REV 10's maybe.

thanks tim i'm looking for good sound like you described. Do you know what amp malibu uses for your 6x9 set for two pairs? I currentley have a pair of pro 485's and there a little much for my family so getting something a little smaller will work for me. What amp would you recommend for two pair of 6x9 from what i ve read it looks like the syn 4 bridged?
thanks

malibu uses a rockford p500-2. That gives 125x2 at 4 ohms or 250x2 at 2 ohms netting 125 watts to each speaker whether you run a single pair or two pairs. The PRO 696 can handle more power. We run them with our SYN-2. 200x2 at 4 ohms and 350x2 at 2 ohms so netting 175 per speaker when running two pairs. So you could always run with them off the factory amp and see if it suits your needs and upgrade the amp later if you want a bit more from them.

I'd like to hear a pair of those 6x9s knowing they are HL now.
