I know not everyone here has inboards(wakeboats), (I wish I did, but I don't) so lets show some pride for the inboard/outboards!

I have a 1988 Wellcraft 18' with a V-8 that was given to me but I am having to re-do the interior including puting a new floor in it. I will post some pics as soon as i get them re-sized.

Here are my pics,This is before I even washed it. i've got an 85' Welcraft that i've kept up really well. and i'm building a pylon for it over my spring break so i have it ready to go for the summer. i will post up some pics when i get back home from classes and resize them.

Yea my boyfriend called one of his dad's friend and asked him if he wanted to sell the boat b/c he knew the guy hadn't used it in over a year so we were hoping he wanted to sell it. So when he called him the guy told us to just go get the boat, and he asked him well how much do you want for the boat, and the guy said I don't want anything for it just go get it and use it. so thats what we did. We figured since it was given to us we could afford to put some money into it.

Yea we were pretty excited about it. It was even better when we hooked everything up and it cranked up on the third try! Especially since it hadn't ran in about a year. I know someone who does a lot of welding and builds fishing towers for offshore boats so He's going to build me a tower for cheap.

There is nothing wrong with In/Out boards. Before my family upgraded to a Tourny boat we had a 19' Calais. It had such a deep haul and would throw monster ass wakes that could easily rival a wake boat. The only problem was it was way to hard on the motor to have the boat loaded and only going 24MPH. <BR> <BR>Make the most of what ya got.

Hope everythings is mechanically sound, you guys should have a fun summer! <BR> <BR>I wanted to point something out on your trailer: it has rollers instead of carpet covered wood bunks. Be careful launching it, as it may roll off the trailer on a steep ramp! no bueno for your fist launch. <BR> <BR>anyway, you'll have something to be proud of when you're done! have fun

That and the fact that we have had 2 summers of engine issues. We would have been farther ahead to bite the bullet a couple of years ago and buy the Malibu. Instead I went the "cheap" route and tried getting more power out of the 4.3l Mercruiser.

Shannon, for me, that's exactly it. I had never even thought of wakeboarding when I first started shopping for my boat a year ago. Boating was something I had wanted to do for years, it just wasn't feasible. <BR> <BR>About halfway through the season, a friend introduced me to wakeboarding, and I've been hooked ever since. If I were starting over now, I'd probably look harder at finding a way to pay for a tourney boat. On the other hand, I love my IO and it will probably be plenty for my riding skills for a few years.

Jay (Jay_g) <BR> <BR>Is that a monster tower on that 18 ft Bayliner. If so, did you install? How Hard was it? or What did it cost for dealer install? Is it sturdy and worth it. I am looking to sell my Chaparral and get an Outback like you just did. Should I install a tower and try to get a couple more seasons out of mine. I'm not quite ready to drop 38g's right now and a higher payment but I really want a wake board boat. Any suggestions?

Steve <BR> <BR>Yes its a Monster Tower---I intstalled it in about 4 hours by myself. If you have two people you could do it in 2 hours. Its real sturdy and looks great. Honestly in my boat the tower didnt make that much more of a difference except for keeping the boards out of the boat. A good rope makes more difference than a tower

My dad bought it new in '84, and when I was in high school made a deal with me. If I took care of it (changed the oil, waxed it, ect.) he would give it to me when I turned 18. So I really kind of inherited it. Now that I'm at school he gets to use it more than I do.

bstephen. I was a preloader for damn near a year. Good job to have while you're going to school but damn wakin' up at three o'clock gets old doesn't it. Back pain does too.

Well I may have went a different direction. I started with a newer I/O and went to an older Inboard. It's good to see all these posts with people making the best with what they have. Also the sweet upgrades, it gives me something to look forward to. Before this thread I thought everybody on this site had a Mastercraft, Malibu, Tige, or Wakesetter. I'm just happy to have a boat and wakeboard. It looks like I'm not alone.

We also spend a good amount of time on Priest, Twin and Spirit lake. <BR>I had a slip on Hayden last year, but thought the lake was getting a bit too crowded to bother with the slip again. Even getting on the water at 6:00 in the morning, you were waiting in line for calm water. <BR> <BR>I really want to get onto some of the other lakes in Washington. - It sounds like they warm up a bit earlier than my local lakes.

what model centurion is that? I've noticed that a lot of centurions have wake wash out due to how big the angle of the V is on the boat?

Nate, that is an '04 Enzo SV230 (the first year made). The wake is awesome. I've been on malibu's, Tige's, and Mastercrafts. My wake is right up there with the best of them. For boarding most people compare it to an x-star, meaning meaty and rampy, and wide (not as peaky as the Nautiques, though I understand that the Avalanche/Typhoons are peakier and less rampy than an Enzo. For surfing...well, Enzo's are known to be some of the best (pull the wakesurfing championships every year). I've not ridden on many other models of Centurions, so I can't say for sure. I seem to have read that older, smaller Centurion's may have their limits as to how much wake you can get out of them, but the Avy's and Enzo's...load'em up!!!
