watson 138 or 142
 

I am sorry to start another what board thread, but this one is more specific. I want an 09 (price saving) Watson. I am just not sure what size. I am 5-10, 175 lbs and ride a witness 136. I ride wake to wake mainly and dont take it into the flats (on purpose that is). I want a board that lands soft. Right now I am go wake-to-wake consistently and the only trick (other than grabs) is a toe-side 180. I am hoping to work on a heel-side 360 in the near future. So should I go with the bigger board or stick with the 138??? Thanks for the opinions.

I ride the 142, having moved from the 138
you wont be disappointed with the larger board, it will land softer and you'll ride higher and faster, IMO
Its a nice board

i think either board will work the 142 may hold you back on spins like a 720.it will give you more boost off the wake. the 138 will be faster and spin a little easier. hope this helps.

been a big board rider for a long time. switched to a 09 watson 138 this season. love it. dont see myself going back.

Im only 170bls, over the last 6 months made the switch from a 137 to 139 and now just made the change to a 142.

Go the big board! Lands much softer, everything is more floaty and stable. havent noticed much impact with my spins.

Is that why I'm not hitting my 7's? Stupid 142!

NO its because watson rides the 138 when he does his 720s LOL.

My dad is almost exactly the same size as you, I'll let you know how he likes his 142 in 8-10 business days.

I'm smaller than you and ride the 138. Agree with others, go 142
