Paul, most analysts will tell you that this was not unexpected and much of the hurdles that are expected have already been priced into the market. The markets have essentially responded to uncertainty and done so in a rather tame way, mostly due to the fact that most money managers aren't really surprised.

Disagree. If we loose our AAA rating, it will have a larger impact than people think. The dow is down almost another 100 today, although its mostly due to second quarter GDP and consumption shortfalls.

DOW down 266 today.

Peaks and valleys... I'm a firm believer of dollar cost averaging, there's going to be some good buy opportunities for those sitting on cash.
