2012 Harley Grind
I'm on a 2008 Ronix Covin right now, but I am thinking about picking up the new Harley Grind. Is there any reason not to go with the grind base over the regular base? I don't ride a whole lot of cable but will probably make a few trips to wakenation and maybe o dub. Any differences in weight between a grind base and regular base or how they perform behind the boat? Any advice would be appreciated.

You won't be able to tell the difference. I rode both last year. Switched to the Grind because I broke the regular one. Should have my new Harley Grind in the next few days.

I've got a 2012 Harley 143 with the regular base for sale in the classifieds if you want to save some $$

The Grind Base does make the board a little bit heavier, but not enough to notice a diffefrence on the water when riding. Performance wise you might notice the Harley Grind being a little bit more slippery on the water compared to the standard base, but the removable fins vs. molded fins definitely help it bite a bit more when edging. Hitting the cable or not, the Grind is gonna be more durable. So, if you tend to be tough on your boards or hit a lot of rails/sliders, go with the Grind. Happy shredding!
