Running 4 rev10s off of a SD4
 

Does anyone run this and do you really notice a difference from the 80watt loss?

FWIW, I spoke to a rep at Wetsounds yesterday about upgrading to the Rev8 from my Pro60. I have the HT2 (165x2) driving the Pro60 and he pretty much told me that I won't be happy with the HT2 driving the Rev8. He recommended the HT4 bridged to 2 ch (300x2) to drive the Rev8.

Not sure about the SD series amp since they are higher end model but I bet those Rev10s are just as power hungry as the Rev8, if not more.

I'm currently running 2 rev10s off a syn4, but was thinking I'd use that amp to run the inboats, and get a sd4 to run the tower.

Anthony that is the set up I just bought. Rev 8s and a Ht-4 to drive them. Ht-2 would not be enough according to everyone I talked too.

You will want the SD2 in two pairs of REV 10. The SD4 would be 185x4 where the SD 2 would be 620x2 at 2 ohms. Netting 310 per speaker.

Btw, the Rev10s are not more power hungry than the Rev8. The Rev10 is actually more efficient than the Rev8 due to the larger midbass driver. The difference is that the Rev10 has more potential with more power. So it's really not a matter of 'must have' more power. It's a matter taking full advantage of 'more capacity'.

How well do 4 rev10s run off one sd2? basically I'm going to be running 8 inboats, 4 8 inch, 4 6.5. it's mxz setup for malibu. I have a pair of rev 10s and a syn4, I'd take form my current boat, but would want to power the inboats and secodn set of rev10s. I have a whole other idea on the sub setup

4 Rev10s run well of an SD2 on my boat. Plenty of volume to be heard 70' back while under way.

I picked up a used SYN4 for $300 shipped. Would my best bet be getting another SYN4 for another set of rev 10's? Would this setup be just as loud/clear as a sd2??

I think 2 syn4's will give you a bit more than 1 sd2. Syn 4 your looking at 400x2. Where Tim said the sd2 will be 620x2 at 2 ohms. so onlt 310 each vs. 400 with 2 syncs.

Power wise, there is a slight head-room advantage to dual Syn-4's as opposed to a single SD-2, but it will not translate into a seat of the pants difference in net volume. The down size to the dual amps is space, cost, efficiency and time and materials to install 2 amps. The 4 Rev-10/SD-2 combo is off the hook impressive. I would definitely go this route if you can re-purpose the current amp for the in-boats.

I have 8 Polk db650's. Would that Syn 4 be sufficient? I'm adding things bit by bit. I learned from others mistakes and I'm trying to do my stereo the right way from day one instead of skimping out and getting something just to tie me over.

Sorry for all the questions. I'm an audiophile that is clueless to numbers if that makes sense haha.

A Syn4 is very solid power for the db's, but i'd rock it all day long. With 8, they will receive 100W rms each.

Thanks for the help, going to run the SD2 for the tower and use my current syn4 for the boat. Will actually save some money and won't have to push for extra batteries with only running three amps
