Diy swoop tower or indy tower?

does anyone have any information on these two towers? they both look excellent but how do they perform, rattle, etc.? pros and cons to each?

Are you talking about DIYwake.com's Pro Swoop Tower (http://www.diywake.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=556)?

YES...

I added the DIY Pro Swoop Tower to my old Four Winns 180 Horizon and couldn't have been happier with it! All the materials were very well made and it was extremely stable. At 6'3" and 210 lbs, I was able to do chin ups from it and wakeboard behind it (w2w 180s, w2w 360s, grabs, and face plants). I also installed the DIY speaker cans and board racks. It took me and a couple buddies the better part of a day to get it all installed, but it turned out great! Also, Raul from DIY was great to work with; he even answered numerous calls on Saturday while we were installing it. Here are a couple pics.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I installed the black powder coated Indy tower and am very pleased with its hidden bolt system and solid feel. And one of the few towers that are Anodized for corrosion resistance.
Has more of a swoop look than a Letter "A" look.
Liked the idea of only drilling 4 holes in my Hull instead of 16 plus.
I would post pics but there is no browse files link option for posting like many other websites have.

To the OP, what kind of boat are you tower shopping for?

typhoon 08-15-2013 10:11 PM

that looks nice on the four wins. It will mist likely be on a sanger v210.

I've also been looking at getting the Indy tower but, I can't seem to find much feed back about it.

i guess big in australia but not a lot in the internet.

Yeah, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Indy and hope for the best.

I have one on my mastercraft 205. Pretty happy with it. It looks pretty good and Randy (the distributor) was good to deal with. I'll post a few pics tonight.

Man, that looks good. Was It sturdy?

retoxtony 08-24-2013 4:33 AM

Ya, nice and solid. I have seen it shake a bit when on rough water and I have the board racks full, but nothing I'd worry about.

Cool, thanks man

what did you guys or anyone doing a tower mount use as backing plates? 1/2 ply with epoxy or??

retoxtony 08-29-2013 1:38 PM

The front mounts I used 3/4 inch plywood epoxied in place and for the rears I glassed in 1/2 inch steel plates under the gunwales. Make sure you either run the drill bit backwards or very slowly or you will get gelcoat cracks. Also be sure to chamfer the drilled holes or you will get gelcoat cracks. So far this has worked for me.
