Man its been a long time since I have been on here but it was always a good source for info so here goes. <BR> <BR>I am having a bachelor party in early August and would like to go to Lake Norman, rent a houseboat for about 4 days and party my arse off. Sooooo, bascially I need the best date or dates to go and a good resource for houseboat rentals. I'm not aware of any large rental houseboat companies on LKN and most of the shore line is privately owned. You can beach on some of the islands, but there are usually campers there as well. There are some rental waterfront homes available. <BR> <BR>We used to rent houseboats on Shasta when I lived in Norcal and the closest thing I could find to that on the east coast was Lake Norris in TN. I believe there were also some houseboat rentals on Smith Mountain Lake in VA, but not as nice.

if you wanted to go all out and really party(i think you should i mean your getting hiched so its the last time you can) you should go to cocktail cove down in GA in Lake Lanier! party hard man!!

I have been out in cocktail cove out on Lanier in GA and currently live in Charlotte and frequent Norman's sand bar a good bit. Both are fun as there's a lot I dont recall about both. I believe cocktail cove on Lanier is in a cove which is like hole 12 of a golf course. I know this because we had golf balls hit at us b/c a guy on the boat had an air horn and was harassing the golfers. <BR> <BR>As far as places to go on Norman - I've had a really good time at Rusty Rudder on Lake Norman. You can pull right up and walk in (obviously not so feasible in a house boat). If I were you I'd find out a way to access some of the places located on the water and then when done with your liquid poison endeavors just pulling out and anchoring down somewhere in the water. After all - you are going to be on a house boat.

We are pulling along a ski boat so once we anchor down the houseboat, she will probably sit for most of the weekend. The ski boat will haul us around. <BR> <BR>I have heard about some good parties at Norman, just not sure when/where they are. Be nice to hang out there during the day with the ski boat, head over to the Rusty Rudder and back if they are somewhat close to each other. By close I mean 25mins or less by ski boat. <BR> <BR>I found one site (<a href="http://lknhouseboats.com/" target="_blank">http://lknhouseboats.com/</a>) that rents house boat, about $950 for a three day weekend but cannot find anything else. <BR> <BR>If all else fails, we may try to find a lake front house with a dock and still pull the boat down. Once again, where is a good area of the lake to rent from that won't mind 15 guys aged 26-31 hanging out for a few days!!! <BR> <BR>Keep the info coming, I appreciate all of it!!!!
