I used the search but couldn't find the information i was looking for. I've been looking online and found replacement parts for the ballast puppy of 6303-0023 6303-003 and 6303-0001. I need to replace the impeller on the ballast puppy from a 2003 mastercraft x-30. I am looking for the right replacement number and also a good place to buy one from. Online i found two different numbers from the pump 18220-1123 gives replacement number 6303-0023 and 18220-1121 gives replacement number 6303-0003. The title of both is the same pump so i was a little confused by that. Any suggestions would be great. thanks

You need the service kit. The PN is 90061-0006. Here is a link to the manual for the ballast puppy. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.jabsco.com/files/18220_ballast_puppy.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.jabsco.com/files/18220_ballast_puppy.pdf</a> <BR> <BR>I did a search to try and find that kit. The first place that popped up was a site called Defender.com. Here is just the impeller - <BR><a href="http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1" target="_blank">http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1</a>|311|53460|809302&amp;id=140792 <BR> <BR>And here is the whole kit - <BR><a href="http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1" target="_blank">http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1</a>|51|299222|121271|316442&amp;id=617826 <BR> <BR>The only thing I don't like is that the kit doesn't show the impeller and it says it is for the water buddy, so you might want to call and make sure it comes with the kit.

I'd recommend replacing the stock impeller with the yellow impellers. I know the MC dealer in Sac has them, Cope &amp; McPhetre's. Not sure on the model #.

Go with the yellow impellers, they work so much better. I think any MC dealer can get them.

Are the yellow ones the nitrile impellers rather than the neoprene.

The yellows are nether nitrile or neoprene, they are a silicon rubber. As far as i know they are not available from jabsco. Just MC dealers. Rumor has it that their is another silicon version that is blue but i have never seen one.

I just picked up a set of yellow impellers yesterday. The MC part# is 300218. I have a friend who has them and never has had a issue with his pumps since he put them in.

The yellow ones are available from Jabsco. Ballast pump impellers and outer seal is Jabsco #6303-0007 (not sure what the number for the kit with the inner seal as well for the yellow ones is). <BR> <BR>Yellow ones work great as far as the solving the binding issue, but are slower/have less "pull" than the original black ones -- at least if pulling through a T or Y-valve, like in my case for additional bags tied in with system. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by fbroen on May 21, 2007)

A while back, I was told by an ITT (maker of Jabsco) rep that the 18220-1123 and 18220-1121 are the same pumps. Seems weird, but that is what he said. <BR> <BR>I also had luck with (black) impeller number 6303-0001 and service kit (black impeller, seal, shaft seal) #90061-0006 (Boat US/West Marine #6621833).
