Looking at getting a 6000lb Galvalift for an X-45 but the dry weight for the boat is 4950. If it's full of gas and gear I'll be at 6000lbs.

It's a good deal but I'm not sure if using it at max capacity is good........Help?

That is one hell-of-allot of gear. Fuel is 90 gal @ 6.25# @ 72 deg. F or 90 x 6.25 = 562.5 that is assuming that your tank is chocked full. That still leaves you 437.5 lb. of gear. Unless you have 8 batteries and a ton of gear I doubt you have that much weight in gear. Not to mention realistically how often do you completely fill your tank 90gal @ $4.50 = $405.00. You should be ok with that lift.

6000lbs is what it is rated for...the amout of extra you can get away with is prob. way more... they leave a lot of room for error just for safety sake.

with the right cables i would guess at least 8k is do-able
