How is the wake on the 210 compare to a mc x-star or vlx? <BR>ALso, does anyone have any picture to compare? <BR>Thanks alot

The 210 wake is narrower and steep, with a short transition, and when heavily weighted, almost drops down just before you ride up the wake. <BR> <BR>The VLX is similar to the X-star - longer transition, less rampy, although you can put a little peak on there with more weight in the back of the boat, or by putting the wedge down on the VLX.

sorry im talking about the new 210, 2005-2007ish 210, and im also only talking about stock ballest, is the stock 210 wake small? <BR>what do you guys prefer, short but rampy or long but not steep wake?

I personally like short and straight up pop... I have no business landing in the flats, my knees hate it, the new 210 are awesome looking, but I haven't ridden behind one

Dave - the 210 is completely changed for 2007. 2006 and earlier models are a completely different hull...

I would also say that the CC 210 wake is pretty much never small even when you roll without any ballast. I have ridden behind mine with 2500 lbs sacked out and with nothing and it creates a great wake either way. The CC 210 can get a lot steeper then the other wakes you mentioned but you can also mellow it out by adding a lot of bow weight like Nick has suggested. There can be a trough on the CC 210 if you weight it a lot and it is more subject to weight distribution in the boat then the other boats you have mentioned.

Stock ballast 210 Wake is the best IMO.

depends which 210, the 07 is different than the 95-06. If you're talking pre 07 it is much, much more abrupt and vert than an X-Star or VLX. It has a ton of vertical pop without much landing tranny. Some love it, some hate it. I'd get out and ride behind one if I were you. You'll know right away if you like it or not.

Whats the new 210 wake like? It sounds less steep and more like a VLX or X-Star.

Landing in the flats is more of a function of edging, speed, board shape, and line tension, not so much wake. If you want to go up then edge all the way up the wake. If you want to go out speed up and load the line. If your edge is poor your trajectory will follow suit no matter what wake you're on. Steep wakes may help beginners with height, but where you land on the wake has more to do with the rider IMO. Longer transition wakes give you more area to land on for softer landing. But if you're flying into the wake on a flat edge you probably have no chance of hitting the other ramp and will land a little rougher. <BR> <BR>VLX, X-Star, X-2, Sanger V210 15 &amp; 30, new 210 longer transitions <BR> <BR>Old 210 short like hitting a curb.

I have owned the old hull 210 and now have a 2007. I prefer the wake of the new hull over the old. <BR> <BR>Old hull is vert, hardly any transition, and very abrupt pop. Stock ballast with a little extra is the nose is all you need. <BR> <BR>New hull still has a lip but just not as vertical. Much more transition and similar to the X-Star, VLX, etc. Trough is pretty much non existent as well. Stock ballast will satisfy most riders. Add 1500 lbs. on top of the stock ballast and you have just as good of a wake as any boat out there. <BR> <BR>I have custom sacs for my lockers but rarely use them. I run stock plus 400 lbs. of pop bags in the nose most of the time. Very long transition and easy wake to hit IMO.

The previous generation 210 is by far my favorite wake ever. Steep and abrupt!!

I like the long ramp of the XStar, I am not that good or a rider and the vertical ramp throws me off on jumps. I did like the pop of the 05 vlx, just could not handle it. I am sure with some more riding time it would get easier. With the XStar we ride long line lengths and land on the down side of the ramp. You need to charge the wake to clear it though. The vlx did not have the width of wake; as does the XStar so you don't have to charge it, just drift into on edge.

yea i loved the origonal 210, but i needed a brand new boat so i got a malibu vlx bc to me its as abrupt as i could get.

The Epic that I rode was pretty much like the 210. It's on steroids though with 4000#'s of ballast and the 'roid rage and appetite to boot... <BR> <BR>The best thing IMO opinion about my '06 210 is the fuel consumption. I can easily go wakeboarding longer than any X-Star or VLX with similar sized wakes. To my knowledge they both have bigger gas tanks but I can still out last them on the lake with a competitive wake!

I think wakes are getting big enough these days that you don't need the aid of that steep wake anymore. The less steep wakes are much more user friendly and give you a much larger and softer landing area. Plus, rampier wakes usually come from larger boats and most people are rolling with larger crews these days since wakeboarding has become so popular.

They don't compare 210 all the way no questions asked if you want a real boat.

Have you ridden an X-star or VLX or LSV? You really don't think you can get just as much pop with those boats as compared to a 210? Those wakes will kick you just as much...but are also more controllable and won't buck you out of control as much.

I really like the X-star wake, but my absolute favorite is the X-1 (old x-star) wake because it is just enough combination of ramp and vert.

Yup, I've ridden the X-Star and the original VLX. The X-Star wake is really nice and is big, but the kick is not at all comprable. Not even close IMO. It was a great wake, but way different. They will not kick you just as much. Even my friends X-1 doesn't have nearly the kick of a 210 and it definitely has more of a kick than the X-Star and VLX/LSV. <BR> <BR>Have you ridden a heavily weighted 210?

You can get lots of pop from the other boats but that uncontrollable buck is what I'm looking for. With my Absolute, that type of pop is exactly how I like to ride. I totally dig the others a lot, but the 210 is just so money. Scott, if you ever head south to Canyon Lake, look up Tackleberry, he has the best weighted 210 ever. Its a monster.

Yes, I've ridden 210's a bunch. They are very nice and will definitely kick you up. I feel a lot of kick with other boats as well though...if they are weighted correctly. I will say that 210 probably takes less extra weight than any other boat to have a really nice wake. It is also crazy small so that probably has something to do with it.

210 is one my favorite wakes. If you make 150k+ a year, then a xstar is nice. But if you want to ride everyday and still afford the gas, the 210 is awesome.

2001-2003 210's can be had for like $30k. Also, the super sports can be converted into nice wakeboats.

I was just giving you a hard time Leo. I think if I wanted the best wake for the cheapest price (and wanted to seat more than 2 people!) then I would go for a 90's Super Sport. <BR> <BR>So how do our Aggies look down there this year?
