I am gonna get a new board & bindings and there is a chance I will ride half the year in the salt water. I already heard to stay away from the Byerly BOA's because the metal cinch will corode, but what about my board. Should I stay away from certain types of board construction, or should I have one fr fresh water and a cheaper one for salt. I know this question about the board sounds stupid but I want to make absolutely sure I don't do anythihg to ruin my board or bindings especially if I get a DNA.

I have ridden in salt water and the only problem I had was with the inserts on my Byerly. They showed a little rust, but a shot of WD-40 before you hit the water should protect them for the day. Just make sure you rinse your gear well with fresh water after riding. <BR> <BR>Hope this helps.

I ride in salt water every weekend. In addition to the entire boat, I hose off my Belmont board and Belmont bindings every time I return, and I always remove the bindings from the board. After two seasons everything seems to be holding-up just fine. Yes, the threaded inserts in the board are a little rusty, but it's minimal, and I think the newer Hyperlite boards are now coming with stainless steel inserts.

Just hose off the Board and bindings (as Alex said) and take the bindings off. But every two-three weeks, soak your bindings in fresh water for a few hours, then empty the tub/bucket and refill with fresh water and leave your bindings in over night. that should make them last.

ive got a premeir with belmonts that is about 2 years old, no soaking in water, no removing bindings except maybe once or twice to move them around a little, no wd-40, and they are fine except for very minor rust-barely noticeable but i do always rinse boat, gear, everything with fresh water

I ride in salt water. All my gear is fine, and I never rinse. The boat get flushed, washed, and wiped down inside and out, but I don't bother with the board and bindings. My board is 3 years old and my bindings 2 and I have no problems.
