Thinking about buying a wakesurf board &amp; some more weight for the boat. My boat- '93 Sunsetter. <BR>Ballast now - 680# rear seat sac (in place of the rear seat,duh) &amp; 370# tube sac in middle ski locker. I was thinking about adding another sac on the port side of the motorbox. OR..could I lay my rear seat sac next to the motorbox towards the port/rear &amp; get a decent wake? <BR><a href="http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/9500/img2692d.jpg" target="_blank">http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/9500/img2692d.jpg</a> <BR> <BR>Can it be done? I will let you know how mine does on Sunday. I just picked up a board and I have an 86 Sunsport. <BR> <BR>I have 2 370# in the rear and I was thinking about getting another 370 or maybe a 750 for along side the motor box. I also have a bow sac I could try filling a little.

I run a 750# sac along the dog house shoved all the way back to the rear bench. Then another 750# sac inline with the first, on top of it, but the second sac is further back. It rides over the bench all the way back on top of the stern. 2nd sac filled to about 60-75% full. 400-500# in the bow. 20' direct drive. Everyone onboard toward the weighted side for the most part. I called Acme and bought a new prop for all that weight. <BR> We have alot of fun with this little boat!

I have run up to about 1k in the fat seat and 3 440's stacked port side but they only prolly 400 ea. Little less when we had a couple of more people in the boat. Always put the bow into oncoming wakes unless you want to call the insurance company.

i would recommend adding two more sacs to whatever side that you will be surfing on. it's all about getting that back corner down as much as possible. i'd leave the ski locker sac, maybe drag that back sac more to the side you'll be surfing, then throw a sac next to the engine, then one more on top of all that. <BR> <BR>remember, not only keep the bow high when you're crossing rollers, but also only make turns to the side that you're surfing. let's say you're surfing the port side wake (passenger side). you're going to only want to make left turns when someone falls because if you make a right turn, that back corner of the boat will essentially slide through the water and there will be a flowing river in the back of your boat.

No doubt you can get a decent wave with a DD <BR> <BR>1998 Sky Supreme DD <BR> <BR>400# hard tank in rear <BR>400# locker sack <BR>3 250# fat buddies stuffed in the corner (two on the floor in a L shape around the motor box and one on top of the L) of whichever side the rider is on. <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/87668/716888.jpg" alt="Upload">

I'm going for it. Going to order a couple more sacs. Now how about a board. I really don't have a clue. What size? type? Brand? I would like one board that numerous people can use.

If you need a multi-rider/big rider board get something bigger like Hyp Broadcast 5.6 or an Inland Surfer Blue Lake if you can afford it. Shred Stixx have a great reputation. If you want a board more closely sized to you, what is your weight and height?

Wave looks pretty thick and meaty. Do you have a trim tab?

I've got an "anti-cavitation plate" that is only manually adjustable -- have never played with it -- might be worth exploring?

Yeah you could totally lengthen that wave a little. You could also put a hydraulic-electric trim tab on.

Up or down to lengthen it? It doesn't have a lot of adjustment. <BR> <BR>I think the electric/hydraulic trim tab may be more work than you think -- I don't have access to the backside of the transom below the gas tank (below the swim deck.) I would assume I'd have to run electrical or install backing plates down there?

I installed it on my boat, took a couple of hours and cost 300 or so off ebay. If you can't get to the transom, I wouldn't do it. Put the plate down a little, it will force the nose down and thus make the pocket longer. I might also clean the wave up a little.

Down to lengthen the pocket up to steepen the wake. <BR>Plate down = bow down. Plate up = bow up. <BR>Just like Duffy says.

I put the plate down and you're right.... wake still had good push but was a lot longer.... I think I put it down a little further than I prefer, but it's good to know! <BR> <BR>Not sure how it will effect my wakeboard wake... but... well... I don't care that much!
