$1,430 for the Sub VI...Something like $800 for the B-Side...are these legit? No way anyone in their right mind going to pay this with Ronix putting out Parks and Harf's boards for under $500?

http://www.skiersedge.com.au/pages/products.php?stid=1&sid=1000&ssid=1001&amp ;prodId=229&ps=&a=pd&seasonId=1&ca t=Wakeboards&catId=25&brandId=1&dy=0

Currency Conversion Results

Symbol Australian Dollar to US Dollar

AUDUSD=X 1430 = 1,278

But still that is crazy

nasty530 10-01-2007 1:31 PM

Wow thats an awesome deal! I'll take 2 at that price!! They don't mind a check, do they?

chrism4668 10-01-2007 2:20 PM

hey yeah i am from Aus and that is the shop i go to i could not believe the prices of the new gear its insane!!

drewsnautique94 10-01-2007 2:21 PM

ditto

bmartin 10-01-2007 3:44 PM

Those prices can't be legit. I feel for you Ausies if they are.

proho 10-01-2007 4:34 PM

Gear is really expensive outside the states.

hyperlite_boards 10-01-2007 4:59 PM

i think they will get down to a more reasonable amount when they are more available

spin2win 10-01-2007 5:17 PM

thats one way of making up for the loss after the break up. "stick it to the customer" I think ill buy a ronix! If anyone spends that kind of money on a board is riding for the wrong reason IMO. Parks lands a 1080 on a FM. Its not totally about the board. You can get a great board for 200$. With companies like CWB using old pro-models for their package board says a lot about the comany.
ps/ When did CHINA start charging so much for production. Those 7 year olds are hurting for some extra cash.

jpk 10-01-2007 5:19 PM

I think there are import taxes and stuff on those. I seriously doubt you'll see prices anywhere near that in the US for Hyperlite gear.

kalenk 10-01-2007 5:26 PM

that is the most rediculous thing i have ever seen. yeah... i think ill stick to my skate from now on thanks.

johnm_ttu 10-01-2007 6:35 PM

U.S. Retail Prices

Sub VI $799.99
Murray $549.99

Hyperlite and Ronix are both using this new foam that is really expensive in a few of their boards. Ronix is using the foam in their Dark Series ltd editions. It's supposedly lighter and stronger blah blah blah...

slipknot 10-01-2007 7:02 PM

omg wtf lmfao

caseman1322 10-01-2007 7:13 PM

I hope thats true because there's only one other shop in my area besides mine that carries wakeboards. They carry hyperlite and I carry Liquid Force. Looks like I'm gonna have a good year.

26lacefield 10-01-2007 7:36 PM

i'd like to try the sub6. good thing i sell hyperlite at the family shop. so i'll get it at cost. hahahhaaha but damn i can't believe that. why toooooooo expensive.

malibuboarder75 10-01-2007 7:59 PM

Wow, show me some footage of a rider getting an extra 5 feet of air on all of his tricks. Because there is no way I could justify an $800 board no matter what material was used.

dooie 10-01-2007 8:25 PM

some times i wish i lived in the us

trewblu 10-09-2007 9:25 AM

I am going to stick with 07 boards because the
prices for the 08 boards wow

mucktoerider 10-09-2007 10:42 AM

New boards are worth every penny....don't believe me...wait until you try them for yourself.

chrism4668 10-09-2007 2:32 PM

do you have your murray???

mucktoerider 10-09-2007 2:59 PM

Chris.....I wish. Hyperlite is saying 2 to three weeks. Good news is, I have a drysuit coming Friday. So I will run it as soon as I get it. I did take it for a spin in Florida during Expo....It is awesome!

sealyon.net 10-09-2007 6:29 PM

All of Hyperlite's boards are not that high. Just the Murray and the Sub 6
Spin2Win Hyperlite is still doing great. Their not trying to make up a loss. The Murray and Sub-6 are just supper awesome boards.

chrism4668 10-09-2007 6:52 PM

scott sounds good you will be out there in no time. i cant wait fo them to hit they sound so sweet!!! have you riden the new bindings aswell??

cwaker4 10-10-2007 7:44 PM

I would hope they are super awesome for $150 more than most other pro models.

10-10-2007 10:56 PM

Maybe they have rocket boosters on the bottoms so you get as much hangtime as you want. That's the only way I'm paying $800 for a freakin wakeboard.

eddievg 10-11-2007 12:23 AM

The prices on this page aren't all that different from prices in many European countries. I live in Sweden and standard retail price for a Murray or Byerly wakeboard last year was around $780. I guess its the shipping cost along with a in Sweden's case, pretty steep local tax. Pretty scary in comparison what you can get in the US for that amount of cash.
