- - Getting rid of stickers on board... HOW? (http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103467)

I just bought a used board, but there are some stickers on it which I would like to remove... any ideas???

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
If you were real careful with a razor blade you could probably get them off without hurting the board. Use some goo gone if there was stickiness left over (I dont think that would hurt the board?)
Hopefully the sun hasn't faded the board too much or else the stickers will still show even when they are gone.

duct tape. peel the stickers, and then attack the sticky residue with the sticky side of duct tape. works like a dream.

ya use the razor blade real careful to get under the sticker. you can also rub some lighter fluid over any sticker crap still left on the board.

Use hairdryer to heat up stickers and then peel. Use Lift-Off from homedepot to remove all adhesive without dis-coloring board.

(Message edited by Aidan on March 14, 2004)

Hair dryer and WD40.

Herbert...
Glad to see you got the board ok. Hairdryer idea sounds best to me. After that, there is a product called "goof off" that works pretty killer on the leftover residue. I don't know if they have it over in Hong Kong though.

Thanks for all the idea guys... time for a before and after pic for future references...

i peal the stickers off with my hand. normally some residue will remain which u can take off with paint thinner.

leshella 03-14-2004 8:33 PM

NO NO NO! just soak your board in HOT water (like in the tub) and then just rub them off--easy as anything.

just break the thing off a huge double up, and return it to the mfg for a spiffy new one... works for me every time.

heat gun then peel them off and use some goo-gone to get rid of the residue

Hair dryer and WD40.

Hair dryer and WD40.

-- I second. Works every time. But I would add Hair dryer THEN WD40 (to remove residue). Gotta be careful - the least common denominator is out there somewhere spraying WD40 into their hairdryer.

nailpolish remover works for the sticky stuff too.

Try using Goof Off!

gunz 03-15-2004 3:47 PM

Goof Off will eat the laminate! It happened to my old board.I like the WD40 idea.

wes_can_riders 03-15-2004 4:36 PM

vinger and water works good to get rid of the crap left over or paint thinner even better

Solo wins it

I ended up using hair dryer and wd40 for the goo left... and it's fine now... just like new.

Thanks for the advice, everyone!!!
