Memorial Day is here ... Time to play golf.... :)

Texan 05-26-2011 1:03 PM

I'm going to the coast and going fishing.

wakereviews 05-26-2011 1:25 PM

My lake is closed right now due to high water :( Hoping it goes down by Saturday.

polarbill 05-26-2011 1:28 PM

I aint going to do chit. I had a bach party for 4 days in Bend, Or last weekend, a wedding next weekend, a bach party the weekend after and then a wedding the weekend after that. Not to mention I had a bach party about a month ago and a wedding a few weeks ago as well. I want to do abssolutely nothing but sleep in and maybe BBQ.

Memorial day sucks. Its the start of "Noobs on Water". Everyone who has a boat decides to go boating and do power turns endlessly. Some people get up for 730am tubing sessions.

timmyb 05-26-2011 1:40 PM

Glad I joined a private lake last year...no Holiday n00bs at the lake ever!

wakeandsnow27 05-26-2011 1:41 PM

yes on the golf. shot -7 65 yesterday on a 6550yd course. round of my life. I've definitely been golfing more than wakeboarding lately.

wakesetter_WW 05-26-2011 1:46 PM

I'll be heading up to our cabin tomorrow after noon and staying until monday night. Planning on two wakeboard sets a day. One around 7:00am and one around 6:00pm

bill_airjunky 05-26-2011 3:36 PM

Weather forecast blows. So we'll stay home & play it by ear. If the weather happens to shape up, we'll be out ridin or paddlin on the lake. Otherwise it'll be a weekend inside drinkin.

Bumpass1 05-26-2011 4:56 PM

Stuck on call at work for me. Not able to do anything till next weekend

pc_sledge 05-26-2011 5:05 PM

Forecast finally lookin good... can't wait to get on the water, Ian let me know if you could use a pull i'll be out on the river almost the whole weekend. Stoked.

ktm525 05-26-2011 5:12 PM

Not going out this weekend. Leaving the water for the people who only go a couple of times a year. I don't like being out there with them.

razzman 05-26-2011 6:02 PM

No boating here either, booked the week after at the lake to avoid the masses. Getting the boat cleaned up this weekend.

h2ohangtime 05-26-2011 6:11 PM

Staying off the water as well (and hoping the weather warms up a little bit for NEXT weekend).

cwb4me 05-26-2011 6:23 PM

I'll get some early sets and play volleyball all day while the crazies tear up the lake.

boardnxtx 05-27-2011 7:24 AM

Back surgery in a few hours, so my Memorial weekend is booked solid. Slam some brews for me!!

Nitto 05-27-2011 7:55 AM

I'm heading to the lake with my lounge chair and a six-pack to enjoy the entertainment at the docks.

jjaszkow 05-27-2011 8:23 AM

Cold and rainy here. Hopefully there's at least one nice day.

stephan 05-27-2011 10:40 AM

Hoping to ride Saturday/Sunday and then headed to the golf course Monday for my 30th on the 30th! Have a great weekend everyone!

nauty 05-27-2011 11:11 AM

I have found over the last 3-4 years that Memorial Day weekend means butter! I think a lot of people stay away from the lake for fear that it will be a mess, but the last 3 years in a row I have had an empty lake of butter up until about 2 pm, and this is on the busiest lake in the Dallas area (Lewisville). In fact, last year we rode right down the middle of the lake all morning long. The water stayed nice until about 3 pm.

This year, however, it's supposed to be windy, so I think I'll be skipping the lake this Memorial Day weekend.

scotthons 05-27-2011 11:44 AM

Got a wedding on Sunday so this year is shot. I agree with Nauty that we have had some good luck on Memorial Day. Except for the wind blown first day we had great water all last Memorial weekend. The part of the Lake (Mohave) we were at was pretty much empty. It was a great unexpected surprise.

guido 05-27-2011 12:18 PM

Our weather has been 100% suck, lately. Watching it rain right now. Still hoping to get out and ride a bit, but I'd love it if it would break 70 degrees. This is California, right??? I usually sit on the dock and watch the yahoos all weekend. Get a few sets in the morning then BBQ. Oh well.

Michael 05-27-2011 1:15 PM

Evan,

Its clear here in disco. minus the wind.

johnboyy7 05-27-2011 10:12 PM

+1 on the Noobs on the Water, Ugh (just the thought of all the tubers, and "don't care drivers" that'll be out there starts a massive headache brewin' in my brain)! it just kills me to think how many there'll be out there this weekend throwin' rollers everywhere. won't be a decent shred spot of flat water anywhere to ride on either of the home lakes. luckily my friend just bought a house on a lake so it's semi private, but we'll see how long it lasts.

quik876 05-28-2011 4:43 AM

well whatever it is yer doin this weekend, workin' or playin', don't forget to take the time out to give thanks to those who put their lives on the line so we can have this day of relaxation, BBQ's, friends and familys. And have a beer or two and shred a couple a sets for the ones who have to spend their time still on the front lines overseas. You know they earn it EVERY DAY they're out there!
