Has anybody used VR lenses for wakeboarding pictures? I am wondering if it works to help stabilize the image or if it hinders the process?

I have been looking at the new Nikon 18-200 VR lens for my Nikon D50 <http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200.htm>. I have been using the 18-70 for general pictures and my 70-200 for wakeboard pictures with good success but I really like the idea of being able to do everything with one lens.

It doesn't hinder the proccess but I don't find that VR makes much difference for wakeboarding pictures since the focal length isn't all that long and the shutter speeds are generally high.

In "active" mode it does make a difference when shooting subjects at longer lengths if the boat is rocking.

also your going to find a noticable difference in quality... the 70-200 glass is much nicer than the 18-200, your images definately wont be as sharp..
