First, you'll have to find a brand that's not already in your territory. <BR> <BR>You will need to supply a building, and up front cash to purchase boats from the manufacturer until you get enough sales so that you can finance them through usually GE Capital. <BR> <BR>Plan on needing between 300 and 400 thousand dollars to get started for everything from building lease to boats (5 to 6 minimum on the lot) to supplies and cash on hand. <BR> <BR>I'm not a dealer, but I did a little research into it and if you want to open a "pimp" shop, that's about what you're going to need.

i wouldnt even think about opening a dealership unless i had one million plus in financing period. People forget that you need operating and living expenses for 3 years or so until the dealership becomes profitable. Good luck on the venture, hope you have a solid location and business model.

Take it from me. <BR>We use to own the Nautique and Centurion dealership in town until we were bought out, which is the highest compliment ever. <BR> <BR>You cant start out big. You have to grow. No one starts out big. Also you have to remeber your service department. I dont know where you live at, but here our service dept. was the only thing that kept us alive through the winter. <BR> <BR>The boards are great and stuff, but remeber not to get into them to deep at first. <BR>It takes alot of time and work to be able to sell boards. For us when we were selling boats we picked up Liquid Force. The only boards that we ever sold though were the intro packages.
