I've read that the Simer pumps are not ignition protected. I assume this means they are not safe to run around the engine, or any area that might have fuel vapor present. <BR> <BR>Has anybody had issues with this? What have you done to ensure you don't blow up your boat?

I've seen them mounted in engine compartments. I guess if you vent the area out well it should be alright. Personally I'd rather spend a couple extra hundred bucks and not have to worry about blowing my boat up. You could also mount them under a seat or something outside of the engine bay.
