Anyone know how well Liquid Tunes protects the eardrum from perforating(sp). Anyone have a blowout while using them or have an experience where you think they saved you from a blown eardrum. I'm looking for ear protection but would like to be able to listen to music also. I know about the proplugs and everything I was just curious how liquid tunes protects the eardrum compared to everything else. Thanks guys.

See a local audiologist. They can make a custom earmold that will adapt to your liquid tune ear buds and give you all the protection you need. They stay in really well, plus reduce the background noise around you so you can actually set your tunes at a lower volume level and not damage your hearing. Get a bright color cause they do float if one were to pop out on a really bad wreck.

So would the liquid tunes headphone be better or worse on a hard fall on the side of your head?

I don't think they could be worse than having nothing, and I highly recommend using some sort of ear protection, even if its just those wax ear plugs. I should have had permanent hearing loss when I blew my eardrum/broke my auditory bones when not using any plugs. I was really lucky to get any hearing back in my right ear. I just would rather have music while riding anyway.
