Looking to sell (or trade, whichever is best) our '99 SeaRay for an actual wakeboard boat. After 8 years of filling sacs and fighting an I/O, my must haves besides open bow and tower are auto ballast and perfect pass. What are my best bets? We are in Houston, Tx. I'd prefer to stay closer to 20k if possible. Thanks in advance!

if you are willing to go direct drive, you should be able to find what you are looking for in your price range. V-drive, forget about it. You might be able to find a v-drive for around $25k, but expect to put a tower, PP, and ballast in yourself, or some combination of them
|
You can defninely get a V-Drive in the 25,000 range. And on that budget, I too would look at Sangers. They are the best boat/wake combo for a budget. <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/453309.html?1180300779" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/453309.html?1180300779</a>

Buy something used 3-6 years old and pay cash. Lots of choices out there. I would get something with all the factory ballast and tower and would hold out for a v-drive. Any of the major mfg make a decent boat. Just depends on what you like and can find in your area.

Take a good look at Moomba, lots of bang for your buck and they are basically a base model Supra, the manufacturer's name is Skiers Choice. I looked around pretty hard, and found no other manufacturer gives you even close to the same amount of bang for the buck with features and options. Each year their sales figures are stomping the competition which will continue to make resale better and better down the line from a name recognition standpoint. The overall quality of the Skiers choice boats are right there with the "Top 3", and people will admit the the wakes are outstanding.

Nautique Super Sport

I just bought a boat in that same price range. Ended up with a '04 Centurion Lightning but had to add PP and upgrade auto ballast which was <$2K when I installed myself. I was also looking at '00-02 Supras, '02-04 Mobius, '99-01 MC 205s. <BR> <BR> <BR>Tough to say which is 'Best'. Really depends on the deal you get and if you like newer or like top of the line wakes with Supra/MC.

Sanger V210
|
Nautique super sport for sure. My second choice would be a sanger v210. The fact of the matter is boats like sangers and nautiques are on a whole other level then moomba. I would go with an older Nautique, Sanger, Malibu, or Mastercraft everytime over a newer moomba.
|
another vote for late 90s super sport or 205v defenetly would take either of those over a newer moomba
|
You can get a v-drive for that price but be prepared to spend quite a bit of time looking on the internet and making phone calls....I got my 2003 Moomba with perfect pass, tower, ballast, pretty much everything for only 25k...(pic on profile)and it only had 125 hours on it but it took me better part of 6 months searching and then just got lucky

I got an excellent condition 300 hour 2000 X-Star w/ Perfect Pass and tower speakers for $26k. There were about a dozen boats we gave offers for or were one day too late offering before we stumbled on ours, so you just have to be patient, and don't go higher than you're comfortable going just because you know the boat you're looking at will sell soon. There's plenty of boats out there.

Like these guys said, take your time. I waited 6 months before moving on mine. <BR> <BR>The SuperSports and the 205V's are the deals to be had. Same hull as the Supar Air's and the Early X-stars, without the price. <BR> <BR>I put another $2k or so into my boat fixing things and adding a ballast system and perfect pass. Still WELL under 25k.

keep your currant boat untill sepetember. than you`ll find lots of dudes getting out of the boat seen

Have you checked out Houston boats 4 sale here is a link: <BR><a href="http://www.houstonboats4sale.com/index.asp?boat_type=46" target="_blank">http://www.houstonboats4sale.com/index.asp?boat_type=46</a>

supra launch...still use same hull as back in 00, i love it and paid just a hair over 20g for a 2000. no perfect pass though, but im sure you could find one with it for similar price if you waited and looked hard enough
|
There is a 1995 super sport at buxton for 19,000. Only 162 hours. Need to throw a tower and pp in but you could do that with your budget. <a href="http://www.buxtonmarine.com" target="_blank">www.buxtonmarine.com</a>

my advice is to be patient. if you wait a while and look really hard, you'll eventually find an insane boat for around that price.
|
I just picked up a nautique supersport with 300 hours in nearly perfect condition for 18,000.... then after tower, ballast, speakers I'm only at around 21K and it is the same as a superair 210 up until 2005, best buy ever
