What ever happened to Gerry Nunn? Was a sick rider not too long ago. Is he still in the industry in any capacity? I would love to watch him, Murray and Shapiro just free ride in an exhibition.

you just watched pull huh?

Gerry Nunn is STILL a sick rider and has a bigger bag of tricks than most pros I know. He just has different priorities in his life now. For example spending time with his son, studying The Word, and doing some coaching. As far as the industry goes I believe he still has ties with Gator Boards, Fox and has something with Malibu but not sure. Gerry is currently finishing up a series of wake clinics he was doing all over the country this summer and should be back here in FL pretty soon. If your ever down in FL look him up and he'll be happy to give you some lessons...hes and awesome coach btw. Gerry Nunn by far doesnt get the respect and credit he deserves but is without a doubt one of the coolest and most chill guys youll ever meet along with Murray haha. By the way Im not some deranged stalker im just a close friend and huge fan

Gerry is one of my all time favorite riders. You're right, Matt, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I did a clinic with him last Summer. Great guy, great rider. On Stoke Meter the other night I think Shaun Murray
said Gerry's spending most of this Summer in his home state of Ohio.

went down to his house in the winter with a friend of mine. Gerry is one of the most humble wakeboarders i've ever met. You wouldn't think a guy with that mellow attitude could boost so big and ride so hard! Unfortunatly most of his sponsors dropped ( or atleast took him off payroll) because times are tough. He did have his malibu down there in february but he said they could call at any time and say they needed it back. i believe that did happen... Over the last few years going to Gerry's clinics then to his house to ride, i gotta say he's one of my top favorite pros, not only because of riding ability but he is just a motivational dude. When we left his house to go ride O-dub he asked if we cared if he came along... how do you respond to that other than heck yes! Best of luck to Gerry

I would love to see Shapiro and Nunn Ride Doubles!

justinh 09-18-2009 6:25 AM

I would love to see Shapiro and Nunn ride doubles and then battle it out in Thunderdome style death match.

--> Just sayin, both of those fools are pretty swoll and I think it would be a good match.

Just want to add a +1 to everything that's been said. Gerry has coached our kids on several occasions, sometimes in clinics in CA, and sometimes for a week at a time at his lake. He's a great coach, but an even greater person. He's a real Christian and a genuine role model. I've ridden in the boat to watch a lot of pros ride, and I don't think too many go bigger than Gerry. For a guy pushing 40, that's pretty impressive. His s-bend is one of the biggest wakeboard tricks you'll ever see. Whatever is next for him, I wish the very best for him and his family.

+1 Gerry is the best !!
He has done a clinic for us privately for the last three years. Unfortunatly this year we had to cancel cause of the economy but am hoping to re-up next year.
He and his family including his Mom(first class lady also) and Tarzan have all stayed at my parents home and they are welcome any time.
Speaking of Pull last Tuesday I had to back an freeze it, just to see Gerry's son he was so little then and is getting so big now.
Gerry if you read this (I know you do) best of luck my friend and we, God willing will see you next year.

Yeah, Gerry was up in the Pittsburgh area earlier this summer teaching a wakeboard clinic. Really nice guy and he still rips.

He even taught one of the kids a whirly. What the kid didn't tell us before that was that he only knew how to do a tantrum and a raley. The whirly was his first spin!

I posted some pictures from that day here: http://www.wakeboardpittsburgh.com/gerry-nunn-wakeboard-clinics/

Wow, I didn't realize he had so many fans. I thought it was just me. Yeah Isaac, I saw him on pull. Sparked some memories. Smooth with tons on style on his tricks

wakerpunk 09-18-2009 1:12 PM

I thought he was a huge asset to Malibu. i suppose they felt otherwise but i know personally, Gerry sold my friend on (parents money essentially) a v-ride then a wakesetter. Gerry really supports the products he believes in and not just the ones he was paid to push. He influenced me an my buddies to find vests that actually float our bodies. On some of the falls we've taken ide say we owe Ger alot. Besides him and muuray there aren't to many pros pushing life jacket usage. props for that.

Gerry was teaching the first wakeboard clinic I went to. I brought my own board the first one I purchased was a hydroslide. He suggested I try his. I thought that was so cool. The bindings were Nice bindings those things were so tight. He is a fun coach and awesome to watch ride.

big_poppa_pump 09-19-2009 9:01 PM

I bought his Ab Lounge but still don't ride like him.
