Minneapolis Boat show pics

Was at the show today and tried to take a lot of pictures. Was some cool new features and some I just don't get. I couldn't believe the number of boats priced in 6 figures, even at the "boat show" prices. Prices are just plain retarded, IMO!! Enjoy!!

That powder blue interior in the MC is a bit feminine for me. Great shots of a huge variety of boats. Thanks board man 74.
|
I agree! I took that picture not for the color but for that goofy seating. Looks bad on that one, but even worse on the smaller red 20 footer that doesn't even have a rear seat. There seemed to be a lot of what people might call feminine colors. Thats Mastercraft, a purple Nautique 210, Teal. aqua G23, and others. Not sure on some of the color choices. There were also some good ones. Like the Black and white g21!!
|
Thanks for the pics. Cool that you guys had a sanger out there. What was the price tag on it? The black and blue T22 looked good. Yellow and silver flake together on the A24 seems like a really weird combo. looking at the pictures of the G and the ASR I have to say I like the G better. There is just something about the G that makes it look nicer/higher quality than the ASR but I am not sure what it is.
|
The Sangers were pretty basic and the boat show price was over 70K if I remember correctly. The looked pretty plain for that kind of money.
|
what the F. 70k for a V215? That is insane. I am not sure how they can ask more than 50k or so for a V215.
|
ASR interior looks odd to me. Seating arrangement doesn't look like any rear facing seats except the observer seat. No backrest on driver side. Driver seat looks super tall.
X46 rear seats I just don't get at all. The cut out idea wacky to me. |

Did jetranger become captain obvious?

Jet Ranger does throw some facts out there that I do agree with.... |
Captain, I was talking about the corner loungers. I feel they reduce the storage in rear lockers and reduce the sunpad significantly. I like having big rear lockers to free up other lockers for everyone's belongings and drinks. The rear sunpad seems a favorite location for people to congregate when chilling.
Also not sure how many people would kick back in these seats if someone is Wakeboarding or floating. |
Lee, you do have a few good points and I agree with the lack of storage in x46 rear lockers. By removing the panels closest to the transom you can fit a bigger fat sac for surfing/boarding but nowhere near the room as say an x35/g23 back there. No interior layout will win everyone over and I even hear people say the x45 layout was the best and wish it was still around. That being said the x46 rear seats are extremely comfortable with the angle of the backrest and having a cold beverage that close is a plus for most.
|
One of the Sangers was mid 50's for bare bones and the upgraded one was for 70k. The rep at the show today was saying they are making a strong push east and now have a dealership in MN.
|
That ASR was $165,000 - Boat show price. And the construction just did not seem that good to me. There was a lot of creaking going on when I was walking through it.
Really interested to see more about the Mastercraft NXT. A new boat starting at $50,000. They didn't have many details but it might be a good option as more details get released. |

What model is that nautique? The G23?
|
The ASR had an MSRP of 165k, not boat show price. Boat show price was 120k, I've got a picture of it. That thing was massive sitting on the trailer. If I remember right, the G23 was 150k for boat show price.
|
The price on the Sangers was about $55k.
That ASR was an absolute pile..... Someone there was saying it was a "pre-production" model, but I doubt that.... |
I am jealous of your show - so many boats to check out. Here in Jacksonville our boat show had zero, nada, not one single wake or ski boat all fishing boats and yachts. WTF But then I look at the people wearing jeans and heavy jackets and relaize while you were at this show in your freezing temps we were wakesurfing saturday and sunday:)
I agree the prices are beyond crazy |
That G23 sticker has been worked QUITE a bit. It is not even possible to spec out a 173k MSRP on a G23. In fact, with the options listed, it will MSRP at only about $148k.
A FULLY (Every single option) loaded G23, with the 550LSA, has an MSRP of 164k, with a trailer. That is every single option, and with the biggest engine. The XR550 is 11k more than the ZR450. Marine Max looks to be using some false pricing data to sell that boat at full MSRP. Not cool IMO |

I am not trying to defend Tige, just stating what I was told. The ASR on display didn't even have an internal structure. It was just a pre production unit to bring to shows and will eventually be stripped down and destroyed. You could tell it had been worked through pretty bad by attending multiple boat shows.
In other news, the SC 350 was the biggest surprise to me in a good way. Very nice rig. In general, Nautique, Tige and especially mastercraft interiors have WAY to much going on inside, we spent quite a bit of time at each booth snooping around boats. |
Yea, the ASR didn't really look complete - even looked like it was missing a seat or something inside, as it just had a piece of angle right on the middle. I liked the colors they chose for it though - much better than the G23 imo. The G21 in black/white was pretty sweet looking though.
|
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I wish our boat show had this many boats.

Makes sense - they may have pulled it to limit traffic on it as well I suppose.

Unfortunately this statement is false and pretty inflammatory. Luckily our customers that go through the order / purchase process have full access to MSRP order forms. Many consumers forget, freight and rigging is not built into the MSRP form. This boat also has a Phoenix trailer under it that has a retail value of well over $10,000. We also did not show the boat with the Z5 Storage Rack that is optioned with the boat. Thanks Again. Let's look forward to spring!!! |
Can you post some pictures of the $10k "phoenix" trailer? I've never heard of that company, they must be the new hotness.

I have an MSRP sheet as well. I will admit, I was a little bit low. I had forgotten that the 550 had less price impact on the G23 as it did on the G21 that I priced as well. And, you threw me a curveball with the trailer that costs twice as much as any other.
But since you brought it up...... I just dug up the sheet...... Still not coming up with anywhere near 173k. Is Setup and rigging like 12k at Marine Max? My Nautique dealer doesn't charge for it on a brand new 120k purchase. Although, they do have a "Doc fee" of $100.00. So. Lets price this puppy- 2014 G23- $124,242 ZR450- $4628.00 Design Package-$2983.00 NSS- $2674.00 Bimini Z5 Storage rack- $4582.00 Naut Action cam- $2081.00 Tower Speaker Prep- $1302.00 Tower Speakers- 2 Pair- $3848.00 Bat Maint System- $382.00 Cover- $1214.00 Fire Extinguisher- $333.00 Heater- $722.00 LED Cupholders- $412.00 Bow Armrests- $657.00 Bow Filler- $566.00 Sunpad Filler- $678.00 Transom Remote- $418.00 XM Receiver- $190.00 Chromax Decals- $206.00 Hull Bottom, Black- $1087.00 Accent Color- $477.00 Total-$153,682.00 Trailer- Normal- $5500.00. But, for the sake of argument, $10,000.00.... Total with the super dooper trailer- $163,682.00 Now, I will admit, I was a bit low. I apologize for that. I mean, how was I supposed to know the trailer was 10k..... I should have taken the time to pull my MSRP sheets, and add it up, instead of ballparking it. I referred to my quote, which had a XR550, and ballparked it. That being said, even with a XR550, and the ridiculous trailer, it would still MSRP under 170k, much less 173k. |
I see what you're missing, the "Go Boating Kit"! That has to be $10k at least!
|
The price sheets states "List price plus Options and Benefites" I understand Options, but what are the Benefits?
|
Quote:
You did leave a few options out when discussing our price and picked the wrong speaker option, but that is neither here nor there. We have consulted and worked with other very reputable and long standing Nautique dealers, our end pricing to the customer is consistent with these dealers. We are open and honest in every way with our customers that are looking into purchasing a boat from us, whether it is a Nautique, Sea Ray, Azimut, Pontoon, etc. Whether it is stated or not stated, every dealer spends money rigging/prepping their boats, and that cost is reflected in pricing. On another note, If you would not mind letting me know who makes a nice $5,500 retail G23 trailer, I would love to work with them to benefit my customers and offer them this option. We use 8400 lb capacity trailers for the most part. Let's all look forward to Spring and some open water. |
Jeez, enough arguing retail pricing. Just let me know when the buy one get one free sale is.
|
Quote:
The trailer I was quoted, was a Boatmate, tandem axle with Tandem 3700lb. axles. I guess it is a little lighter than yours. I could post the whole quote, if you like. However, I don't think you would want me to do that. And I also don't think it would be respectful to my dealer either. It's all fine. Sorry for pointing it out. I guess it just really blew my mind to see that price. (Right after pricing a fully loaded one). The little things really add up, don't they? |
Am i the only one who looks at these options and thinks it is ridiculous?
So. Lets price this puppy- 2014 G23- $124,242 ZR450- $4628.00 Design Package-$2983.00 NSS- $2674.00 Bimini Z5 Storage rack- $4582.00 --- for canvas and aluminum Naut Action cam- $2081.00 -- gopro is 400 bucks Tower Speaker Prep- $1302.00 -- 100$ in materials. Tower Speakers- 2 Pair- $3848.00 -- two rev410s is like 2400 Bat Maint System- $382.00 - ok Cover- $1214.00 Fire Extinguisher- $333.00 -- 20$ at wal mart Heater- $722.00 -- heatercraft heater is like 400. LED Cupholders- $412.00 -- 10$ in parts Bow Armrests- $657.00 -- ok Bow Filler- $566.00 -- Sunpad Filler- $678.00 Transom Remote- $418.00 -- 150$ part XM Receiver- $190.00 Chromax Decals- $206.00 - not part of appearance package? Hull Bottom, Black- $1087.00 -- not part of apperiance package? Accent Color- $477.00 - not part of. See above. I know you gotta install this stuff which takes time. And if somebody is spending 150k on a boat they probably dont wanna do it themselves but jeeze. |
No worries Eric, I understand where you are coming from with your thoughts after your recent dealings. What did you end up buying? Reasons?
|
who is selling Sanger in Minnesota?
|
The ASR at the show was not a production boat as Bryce said. It was a boat built for the shows before the production boats were available. The boat does not have a stringer system which could explain a lot of the floor flex. The back seat was removed to make getting in and out easier. It was under the port seat. We were told after the show season the boat will be stripped and destroyed. It definitely showed some wear from all the shows, but never the less was cool. I won't be buying one as its way to big for us. Boat show pricing was in the 120K range, not anywhere close to 160K. That was pretty well loaded. I think sale price will decide if it sells. Its definitely not the most expensive boat out there.
|
I don't buy that ASR story for a second and I am a pretty big fan of Tige!
|
Is the fire extinguisher just a fire extinguisher or is a fire control system in the engine compartment?
|
Quote:
Automatic Fire Extinguisher in Engine Compartment. |
Buy it or not, doesn't really matter. Seems like an odd thing to make up if that wasn't the case. That came from the factory rep and not the dealer. Also odd other posters on here were told the same thing. Other people at other shows have also stated the same thing….do you like the Xfiles?

Anyone see those girls on the corner handing out leis by the Malibu booth? My gawd!

1) look and feel of the interior and exterior. Subjective obviously, but I just really like a plush, contoured interior, and low sleek look, like you get in a MC, Malibu, etc... 2) $25k cheaper. 3) I got a buddy with a G23, so, I can ride one anytime, without having to buy my own. I was dead set on a G23, until I went to demo Gen2. I won't comment on WW about that. No sense opening that can of worms. All I will say, is, the X30, that I demoed, surfed very well. Can't take anything away from the G. It is an incredible boat. Definitely top of the food chain. |
@Bryce….darn right I saw them. I think I walked by there a few more times than I probably needed too!!!!!!

There is always a lot of discussion regarding boat pricing this time of year, but to me it seems there is more discussion than ever on multiple threads about how high the prices are. While I don't have the factual data to back up my comments, it sure seems that way. I wonder if the prices are starting to really cut into sales now??
|
I wonder the same thing. I wonder how high they are going to go. I couldn't believe the number of boats that were priced above 100K at the "boat show" special price. They are going up at such a rate that it really makes me wonder where it will stop. I asked my dealer how sales were and he said fine. he also told me that as of January 1st all their banks now are offering 20 year loans and very competitive rates(4.99%). I know it seems to me like dealers are pushing the payment as many of the prices were in small print, but large in the middle was….for as little as $XXX a month!!! So as they get more expensive the loans get longer to keep the payment the same.

Selling my sanger v210. Loaded ski locker sack, perfect pass, full over the tower cover, full sound system=$44799!!

the other thing I truly started to wonder ... the Centurion Body Glove edition was shown by 2 different dealers. I only remember the 2nd one which was just next to Malibu but was looking at the pricing (it's the one pictured above). List price around above 120K - boat show price 84K. So assuming that the dealer hopefully still makes a profit and it better is in the 10% range - then I don't understand MSRP pricing anymore.
After seeing this - I honestly wouldn't even entertain the thought of paying for a new boat more than 80% MSRP - just doesn't seem to make any sense ... just my 2 cents ... |
2nd thought: Seeing all the stainless steel or chrome grill inserts for ventilation etc. including the ones on the G21/G23 - I'm also wondering how long those stay in areas where you get in/out of the boat - you seriously grind your knees/elbows off if you ever slip ...
|
Monkey: I have about 90 hrs on my g23 and haven't had any issues with the stainless. My vents are powder coated. But don't think it's much of an issue

sorry just realized - was poor wording on my end ... guess I worry too much about my dogs getting their paws ripped/caught

i let my dog on my G. she very mellow so not an issue. she is the definition of a lake dog, loves the water

Held up fine. Buts she's only 25 lbs and does run around n boat much. Seadek tough stuff.
|
$4582 for a Z5 cargo rack on a G? I've had 2 boats with a Z5 and they were barely $2000 option. Either Z5 has seriously doubled the price for the G or the dealers has marked up their profit margin on the option.
|
I'd like a Z5 for $2k
|
it shows - but that was one of the main reasons that I purchased an epic (not a g23) back in 2011 and then traded up for another one - getting dog hair out is a lot easier than having carpet. Swim platform shows when they try to climb back in - claws are out ... but my shepherds are 94/86 lbs. each and my mutt is now 68 lbs. (he's overweight) ... inside the boat things are fine but swim deck clearly shows their claw marks - but the board fins leave marks too. So 3 dogs hanging around on the sun deck and trying to get to me when I climb back in ... it's quite busy ...
|
I want z5 for 2 k too!
|
Supra charges $2600 MSRP for Z5 on SC, SA, or 242.
|
Well quite obviously Nautique's z5 is better.
|
I think pricing boats at $170k is a great idea for boat builders. All of a sudden, $100k seems like a deal and if you can get it for $90k you are stealing it. Genius if you ask me. This way they can take the 1% for a ride on the really expensive stuff and get another $25k for each boat from the rest of us when we get our sweet $100k deals. I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I really don't see an additional $70-$80k in gel coat, fiberglass and vinyl on a boat that has a foot or two more freeboard. Only real innovation the past 5-6 years or so are new surf systems, touchscreen controls and super sizing the hull. I can see a couple thousand for the surf system (maybe), an extre $8-$10k for touchscreen stuff and maybe another $10k for additional raw materials....not sure where the other $40k to $60k is spent. They charge more because they can and people buy them. For me, the fun to cost curve starts flattening out around $60k and is pretty much horizontal at $85k. After that, it is all about having the newest, coolest boat out there. Nothing wrong with that if you are into it and have the money.
