david_e_m made a post in this thread: Tower Speaker Amp IssueTNWake,
Excessive input gain sensitivity on the amplifier invites noise. But you still have a core issue. And most often it is a ground or supply loop. Make sure that ALL audio equipment procures its B+ from the same point. ALL audio equipment gr...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Audio Processor[QUOTE=Houstonshark;1828464]I'll post the results but since I'm keeping the 420 in the system and will probably not want to sum the in boats and sub, I'll likely just be using the Bit Ten for the sub. I know it sounds like a waste but I really lik...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Tower Speaker Amp IssueTNWake,
Yes, to the amplifier, bridged into a 4-ohm load is the same as stereo into a 2-ohm load. Or, bridged into a 2-ohm load is the same as stereo into a 1-ohm load.
But four channels bridged into two and driving one pair of 4-ohm speakers i...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Tower Speaker Amp IssueYou are measuring the speaker DCR which is a little lower than the AC impedance. 3.9-ohms DCR is perfectly normal. Many 4-ohm speakers measure lower than that.
In any case, your amplifier doesn't like a 4-ohm load when bridged....it would appear....

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Wetsounds Threesome Amplifiers[QUOTE=floorx4;1828339]Dave,
Once again you always have the most informative posts. The option missed is that of me keeping my Syn2 for the Rev410 and just buying 1 more amp. Either the Syn4 or the JL HD750/1.
Is there a draw back to run...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Audio ProcessorYes the BitTen is an intense set-up initially. But after that the D version makes changing through the five different memories a snap.
You really need to have a good RTA program and a very good mic.
Depending on the boat, I would likely use the...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Wetsounds Threesome AmplifiersWell the Syn4, being Class H is going to be a big improvement over Class AB. Class D is certainly more efficent than Class H. But the Class D to Class H comparison is a much smaller gap than between H and AB which is a big one.
The HD750/1 is a l...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Audio ProcessorOne other thing I was thinking about is that I really like the idea of having multiple EQ and time alignment settings in a processor memory that can be called up instantly from the controller. There are several listening scenarios that could benef...

david_e_m made a post in this thread: Audio ProcessorBy having twin ports you have twice the port wall surface area (drag) as a ratio of the port surface area. That cannot produce optimium efficiency. It also consumes more displacement with more port wall construction. A slightly larger enclosure wi...
