2004 Charity Golf Classic
Back in July we held an event called the Wakesports/WakeWorld Charity Golf Classic. One of the many companies that stepped up to support this great cause was Cassette Wakeskates. Part of their sponsorship was the donation of one of the first 2005 Cassette Bi-Level wakeskates to come out of the factory. Although this board was not yet available to the public anywhere, we got one to auction off to our readers!
As you can see, the new Bi-Level patent pending design is one of the wildest designs ever brought to the sport of wakeskating. Thomas Horrell and Bryan Dawley co-conceptualized this new project in which Cassette will be offering three pro models in the 2005 line. Danny Hampson, Aaron Reed and Thomas Horrell will lay claim to this unbelievable new deck that generates energy and pop that has never been felt on a wakeskate before.
"We've been playing around with hydrodynamic concepts for the last two years and figured out that it wasn't about using the surface of the water to get more pop, it was about using the leverage between the boards and snapping the tail of the top deck onto the harder top surface of the bottom deck," quotes Bryan Dawley. 1/8-Inch mounts attach the top and bottom decks together in two mounting areas, which cause a fulcrum effect that accelerates the boards's lift from the water.
To make the most of this opportunity to benefit Camp Hope, the charity behind the Golf Classic, we took bids for the new Cassette Bi-Level from any wakeskaters that wanted to get their hands on it. The highest bidder picked up a 2005 Cassette Bi-Level Aaron Reed 41" for only $252.71. Bidding started at a measley $1.
