chpthril made a post in this thread: Input on amp for power 2x Pro80s
If you look at the lines above those 12.5V specs, you see the stated 450 I was referring to, which is measured at 14.5V. The 300W @ 12.5 is right target for the expected drop between the engine running alternator output to engine off static batte...

[QUOTE=sidekicknicholas;1934174]I would like to avoid two amps if possible.... but if I can't oh well. Would I be better off keeping my existing 550.3 Kicker amp, throwing the in boat speakers on that (currently powered off head unit) + sub, ...

you could run it that way if your woofer is a 4 ohm. Also, 145W is not much for an 8" HLCD

chpthril made a post in this thread: Tower speaker and amp install
Mike, First you have to understand the role of the circuit protection. Its there to protect the boat if there happens to be a short in the main amp B+ trunk line. 2nd, the circuit protection needs to be able to carry the potential load. Here, I...

chpthril made a post in this thread: Battery Bank help!
Thought the post said the the charger was tripped for a month. Either way, those batteries should not be dead in 5 months, unless there is a draw.

My take on your post, that you have four 6V making up one 12V bank. if so, you need to connect the battery charger to the posts the boat cables connect to. Charger ground to bank's ground that goes to boat or main cranking and charger POS cable to...

Id also figure out why thy have a parasitic draw that drew them to nothing in only a month. Just connect a typical shop charger and set it to a 12V 10A charge and let it go for awhile.

Hard tanks - need to be able to fit down through the locker opening after completion soft sacs, even larger ones, fit right in when empty Hard tanks - take up the same space full or empty. Soft sacs lay flat and can even be pulled out Hard tanks -...

chpthril made a post in this thread: Wet sounds tower swap out
If you have 4 Icon-8 and the end goal is a pair of Rev-410 (485 retired 3 years ago), the ideal amp for now and future speaker upgrade, would be the SD-4. No, 185W rms is not too much for an Icon-8. Mono is opposite of stereo. No distinct left a...
