chpthril made a post in this thread: PPi 900.5 powering 2 Pro 60's and a Pro485?
I think the chnl 5 on that amp is a low-pass only sub-woofer chnl. If so, it will not work for the Pro485. The only way to configure this setup is to run the 2 pro-60s on their own chnls and then bridge the 485 on the remaining 2 full-range chnls

chpthril made a post in this thread: Wiring Tower Speakers and Amp
Avoid their Over-sized CCA. It will not fit many terminals of the same GA and it mushrooms something awful when you strip the insulation off.

chpthril made a post in this thread: Wiring Tower Speakers and Amp
For a 13ft x 2 run for that 2 chnl and 4 chnl amp, the 1/0 ga is fine for the trunk line and then 4 ga to both amp from the distribution block. Besides, I dont think that amp will accept 1/0 ga in the lugs. Have you considered selling the 6.5" ...

chpthril made a post in this thread: HLCD's on a budget
I would also plan and budget for some form of volume level control for the in-boat speakers. This will allow you crank up the tower speakers and turn down the in-boat level. The head-unit "FADE" works, but can sometimes mean scrolling through menu...

chpthril made a post in this thread: Ballast wiring question
Todd, Ive connected a standard tinned battery lug to that fuse box. It was on a 4ga cable. Its a #10 threaded stud, which is about .190" DIA. You will need a terminal that fits a #10 post and whatever gauge cable you decide on. For 3 ballast pump...

chpthril made a post in this thread: Amp going protect, only with engine on...
1) 4ga feeding both amps could be a little small without knowing total length. What size cable and length is the cable from the switch to each battery B+? What size is the trunk line feeding the amps and where is it terminating? 2) thats good 3)...

What is a 4ga block? What model "perko" do you have and which terminal does the amp's trunk line terminate to? Are the batteries' ground cables connecting directly to the engine block or some remote grounding post? If the later, what gauge ...

chpthril made a post in this thread: Upgrade speakers or amp?
Onlybutter, chnls 1 through 4 have an rms of 150W whether the speaker load is 2 or 4 ohm. Chnls 5 and 6 have an rms of 300 @ 2 ohm. Theres the 1200.

chpthril made a post in this thread: Upgrade speakers or amp?
Sorry, that was a little confusing so let me clarify. The XDi1200.6 will deliver 150 @ 4 and 2 ohm on 1-4. 150 @ 4 ohm on 5 and 6 and 300 @ 2 ohm on 5 and 6, then 600 x 1 @ 4 on 5/6. So it does deliver 150W x 6 @ 4 ohm

Any speaker will benefit from some amp power. For those that do not know, Kicker actually does have a full selection of marine amp. If you watch, you will see their banner running here. New for this year is the 8" KM8. Come with both a white and...
