Don't you think it's about time we brought TV-style programming to the web? Well, wait no longer. We just put the wraps on our pilot episode of WakeWorld Behind The Wake and we're making it available for free to anybody with enough bandwidth to download it.
WakeWorld Behind The Wake is all about invading the privacy of pro wakeboarders and finding out more about the places they call home. In future episodes, we'll be digging into everything from riders' garages to docks to boats to equipment and, finally, into their homes and bedrooms.
Our pilot episode features Charley Patterson on the road with the Mission 2 Ride bus tour. Although Charley owns a house on Lake Holden in Orlando, Florida, he and partner Jonathan Lindsay spend nine months on the road every year. That a full-term pregnancy's worth of time spent out in front of the public promoting wakeboarding, snowboarding and their sponsors' products.
It may be their home-away-from-home, but Charley and Jonathan are still living in the lap of luxury in their 40' Monaco Windsor PBS model bus with a slide-out feature for extra room. The bus is powered by a Cummins ISC 350 horsepower turbo diesel engine and an Allison MH push button transmission. Custom Rockford Fosgate stereo systems reside both inside and outside the vehicle.
Their rolling home features leather sofas and a queen size bed and can sleep up to eight people. It's got a washer/dryer combo, Corian countertops and a four-door refrigerator/freezer. Two TV's allow them to get in plenty of Xbox and to utilize their satellite TV hookup. They have an additional satellite dish that takes care of their high-speed Internet access needs.
For the winter, they'll be dragging a full-featured Joyride snowboard shop behind them in the form of a converted snowmobile trailer. During the summer, they'll be towing an Elan Eagle Air wakeboard boat.
According to Charlie, "Mission 2 Ride is a true wakeboard clinic. You will improve your riding and hang with the pros. In 2003 we will have many different events: Clinics, Girls Learn to Ride clinics, free wakeboard demos, Vortec days, plenty of Red Bull and Chipper Beef Jerky, and a chance to win free gear with Vortec giveaways. It's the biggest Mission 2 Ride tour in four years. Free Professional Wakeboard Tour tickets. Nine months straight of wakeboarding, snowboarding, & surfing across North America!"
Mission 2 Ride is sponsored by Vortec Engines, Chevy Trucks, Body Glove, Joyride, Rockford Fosgate, Origin, Boss Accessories, Chipper Beef Jerky, Masterline, Elan Boats, Pro Wakeboard Tour, Zeal Optics, Ski Reel, Marine Power, UGP, Monaco, Cutter Props, WakeWorld, Girls Learn to Ride and Collective Development.
