Abilene, TX - Tige Boats Inc. is pleased to announce its official sponsorship of the 2004 Tige U.S. Open Wakeboard Championship.
The '04 Tige U.S. Open will take place on Nov. 13-14 in Kauai, Hawaii. The top-ranked riders in the world have given their commitments to compete in the event and all amateur wake boarders are welcome to challenge the pros. This year will mark the first time Tige has towed the U.S. Open since the summer of 2002 in Orlando, FL.
"The Tige U.S. Open was a huge success two years ago in Orlando," remarked Chris Bischoff, TeamTige captain and one of the organizers of the '04 Tige U.S. Open. "After leaving the championship, all of the riders really spread the word around the wakeboarding community about how great the event and Tige Boats are. I, along with Tige, am making sure that the '04 Tige U.S. Open really caters to the riders' needs. Hawaii will be a different setting than that on the mainland. We will also have the best water conditions available in the world. We are making efforts to ensure that the riders have a wonderful time after the competition."
The '04 Tige U.S. Open will be the first-ever wakeboarding event filmed in High Definition (HD). The competition joins other sporting events shot in HD such as the Super Bowl, the NBA Finals and Monday Night Football.
Tape-delayed broadcasts of the '04 Tige U.S. Open will air on December 22 at 4:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 2:00 a.m. during the "Fusion Hour" on Fox Sports Network. Fox Sports Network will re-air the event in the spring of '05. On December 18, Spike TV will broadcast a highlight show featuring the Tige U.S. Open. Additionally, the Fuel Channel will televise the event five times, and the 24-hour action sports channel Rush TV will distribute their shows to over 330 million households in over 100 countries.
The Tige 20V Riders Edition will tow the competition.
